You can just listen to the button_matrix of the launchpad and when a button is pressed it'll output a value such as 0 1 1 which means first column, second row, button pressed when you release that button the message will change to 0 1 0 I think if i remember rightly i used an unpack 0 0 0 object, m...

for the record, i had live 8.2.1 still installed. i ran that and it opened fine. this is racking my brain..

i have more questions! i noticed in your annotations about the correct path to add an lfo to the filter cutoff. i played around using a cycle~ to modulate it in this way, but really i want to add a tempo synced lfo to control the cut off, preferably with various wave shapes and preferably one where ...

building a synth, want an envelope on my filter, no problem applying the adsr, but cant work out how to adjust the amount at which the adsr controls the filter freq, whilst still being able to control the filter freq independent of the adsr, like most regular synths... ----------begin_max5_patcher--...
