have you selected your tascam in Abletons audio settings ? have you selected the correct midi in/outs for Maschine in Abletons midi settings ? It only controlls live when set to midi mode (press shift + control on the Maschine controler), otherwise it just controlls the MAschien plugin like in stand...

totally happy UC-33e user here... does everything i expect from it, has enough controls and is pretty hard to f*ck up... mine looks like new and has gotten pretty heavy use over the years

you can preview samples in the browser by activating the little headphone icon and turning up the cue-volume on your master channel. You cant play them that way, just listen to a preview... still better then nothing, huh ?
