Re: Saying goodbye to a friend, Leedsquietman passed away.
Geez, just caught sight of this thread while I was scrolling through the first page. While I never had any conversations with Leeds, I have come to see him as a forum mainstay through his posts for a long time. My condolences to his family and friends.

Re: sonic academy or macprovideo
Nick - please do a tutorial for Uhe ACE. It's a great synth but I never really got my head around it. There is only one tutorial for it which is a start but it's only about 10 minutes, not like your epics which ram it all home through repetition and detailed explanation. Re: sonic academy or macprovideo
I'm personally a huge fan of Tom Cosm's stuff. I recently had the chance to watch his vids and his workflow is second to none. Well presented, and very creative.
[shameless plug]If you're interested in sound design, I have some stuff available as well. [/shameless plug]

Re: Warning don't buy Spectrasonics-products
I've had similar experiences with this company in the past, including the fact that they just don't respond to emails from their paying customers. Big +1 to not buying anything from these people. It's really too bad because their products are pretty slick when they work!

Re: High pass filter kick and bass
I generally do what SubFunk said. I don't generally like to go any higher than 50 hz with high pass filtering a kick unless the bassline is thick enough to compensate for those missing frequencies. You can see how the answer to your question relies heavily on your arrangement, i.e. how often your ba...

I'm intrigued! I must admit I wasn't hugely interested in it when it first came out, but I'll give it a second look based on the feedback here.
