Thanks for the response, I think I understand better now. If you are making your own beats and would like them all to have a consistent sound when mixing from one to the other, then this needs to be addressed at the construction stage of your beats. The best way is to make one "reference" ...

64 bit software will be a reality quite soon. 32 bit OS (that is consumer OS) is holding back hardware upgrade sales, therefore the next generations of OS (Windows and MAC) will be 64 bit. It is like the jump between Windows 3 (16 bit) and 95 (32 bit). I don't think anyone is complaining nowadays t...

It would seem logical that if it is a common word in a language, like apple, peach, tree, etc and in a different industry then it would be ok. However, I would not try before seeking legal council (especially if it is the name of a huge corporation).

Re: i7 quad core ? & duelling monitors ?

Is there any problem (pro/con) with running an i7 save the fact that if you shoved a whole chicken in along with one for more than two hours, it might be too burnt to eat? Any live users using one of these things? I remember someone stating that Live didn't like hyper threading and I didn't know if...

Is your project on an external hard drive? In Windows (maybe in OS it is similar) once in a while the drive letter of the hard drive changes and then Live cannot find the files.

I've had absolutely no problems using Vista 32 bit or Vista 64 bit for audio work. Once you eliminate all the unneeded extras (a few more than XP lol) it all works great. The only problem with 64 bit is not having the drivers for certain sound cards, but that is really the sound card manufacturers' ...

Also, why is it only the drums that have a problem? I would think the levels of the entire songs would be different then as well, no? How are you managing the song levels differently to the drum levels?

If you're on Windows, Resolume is great. On Mac, Module8 is definitely very strong. Our events (www.wearerobots.ca) use 2400x600 resolution (4:1) visuals and the above software is capable of outputting these formats (with a config file tweak on Resolume) - and any other custom formats. Resolume is a...
