Re: any bass players/guitarists in the place ?

been running my epi jack casady into live with some impulses in KeFir (http://habib.webhost.pl/) and it sounds great! maybe a little compression but can get all kinds of sounds.

also doing ambient stuff using epicverb, dronebox and reaktor stuff with a '64 teisco. too much fun!!

why don't you? just downloaded it and it doesn't do an install - it's fully self contained. might be interesting for sample creation or playing around. reminds me of the nord modular editor for my micro modular. haven't had a good look at it, but might be useful :D

Re: Powering stuff over Midi cables?

there already is a midi power protocol, but it doesn't carry much juice. i've got a midi splitter box that's powered by midi. do a google for it - it does exist but it's just not used much...

then just play new notes & the old ones should glide up or down to the new one, exactly.
+1, could also be called legato... you need to play so that a note is held down as you go to another (ie that the note on/offs overlap)

a really fun toy. no midi sync? doesn't matter, just match bpms and quantize record into Live. it's great for mental exercise with music. I've very hung up on the whole "it's not good enough to finish" thing, but I've made a lot of little tunes on it and then just let them go, no judgment...
