Music Compo Community Groups
I have been trying to get myself going on songwriting this year - it's not working
Are there such things as community groups who help and encourage each other to write? Is that a thing?
Is this post in the wrong forum? Apologies if so.

I think it may have even be you Tarekith that I was having this conversation with some years ago.Tarekith wrote:Automate a Utility?
But yes, I've been away from the scene for a number of years (bad work situation) so my understanding of the vocab might be poor but yes, I think that's I'm referring to.

Re: ** How many people actually MIX songs in Ableton ? **
I participated in a post some years ago on this topic (of course I can't find it now...) and maybe this is wide of the point, but isn't it possible to mix/master via an automated plug-in? I routinely have volume issues in all my songs (although I confess to being at the bottom of the talent/skill tr...

Re: Ableton for iOS?
I tried to use Apple's Garage Band but found it incredibly frustrating. I guess thats what im saying. Most of the DAW ports over to IOS are frustrating. They are hard to use (small interface, stripped down versions etc) Why not save the arranging etc for the tool that you have on your main music co...

Re: Ableton for iOS?
I dont think you'd ever use it!! TBH if you have time on your hands on a train (or other non computer access environment), your better of IMHO working with some of the great synths out there. Alchemy, Nave, Sunriser etc etc... tweeking patches, and running them through audiobus (soon to be redundan...

Re: Ableton for iOS?
here's my use case on this... I have a 45 minute train ride to and from work every morning and night. I really don't want to install Ableton Live on my work laptop. So I would like to take just the basic midi pattern data and a few "stupid simple" instruments just so I can bang out some ba...

Re: Show Your Setup May 2009
ouch... me = lame. Its funny no one caught the jergens next to the box of tissues thats next to a picture of presumably your girl friend. LOL at the missile launcher. not quite sure why photobucket did that to my pic but you wouldn't be able to read the captions if it was sized "right". a...

that mix doesn't feel right - every thing feels too loud and not smoothed out...amigo wrote:I like the subtleness of the track and the Daisy vocal makes me smile

Dumb question - Oxygen 8 v2 + Live 7
Ok so don't all slap me at once...
Live doesn't recognize my Oxygen 8 v2 midi controller / keyboard unless I turn it on BEFORE I open Live.
Is there a shortcut around closing Live, turning on the kb, then re-opening Live?

Re: oh oh oh Making the Transformers sound
The Transform sound begins as an 8 hz pulse repeated five times for 0.7 seconds each repeat whose pitch can be represented by the absolute value of a declining sine wave, with each zero-to-zero arc of the wave representing one of five cycles of the repetition. The actual value of the sine wave can ...

Re: oh oh oh Making the Transformers sound
someone please post a how to do this organically and I will be impressed :) Simple - You just need to use your vocal cords, but it only works if you make your body do some crazy spaz movements, in order trick your brain into thinking you're actually transforming :D do u remember that from the 1986 ...

Re: Can anyone recommend a Media Player?
Gab, the newest version of Winamp is pretty bad - the older versions were incredibly lite and great. I typically use iTunes but for the rare occasion where I am sitting in front of my PC and haven't already gone through the laborious process of importing a song into iTunes, I'll set winamp up as my ...
