Cool stuff. Using a virtual MIDI bus is also a great way to create follow actions for scenes -- send midi messages in a set of follow action enabled regular clips out to the IAC bus, and have those clip trigger scenes.

The little keyboard button on the top right toggles between using the qwerty keys as a midi keyboard and for key commands.

On a MAC, control-click on the Live icon, and select "Make Alias." Not all elements are available, but you can open multiple instances of Live, though you can't copy/paste between them.

I can assure you Robert loves and uses Live 5, that video, however was made when Live 5 was just an alpha baby.

You can also use Live, especially with version 5 markers. Turn of quantize, set new markers where you want tracks to end. To open two copies of Live, make an alias. Open as many as you want, though you won't be able to copy and paste between them.
