You could route the midi track with the chord tool into a second midi track and focus Push on the second one.

M4L devices run very stable on my Win 8.1 machine. Zero crashes when loading and using M4L devices, only a few crashes while messing around in patches and that was most of the time caused by my own stupidity.

I replaced the "Device/Track selected" object by a rework of the whole routine. It's still not perfect, but I'm gonna optimize it further and will release it soon.

It sounds very much like this is a problem of your setup.

What OS and Live version are you on? How do your MIDI preferences look like? Do you use other remote scrpits? Is there a M4L device which might grabs the matrix somewhere in your set?

Is there a Drum Rack inside the Instrument Rack? This might cause the issue:
