Impressive.
And genius. No, no I don't mean the synths. He has a producer's ultimate weapon there - the most important part of any working musician's studio!
If he's attacked by synth-thieves in the night, he can throw the cactus at them. And follow up with a shoryuken!

Re: whats the best sample editor to get?
Everyone will have a preference here.
All of the following are great:
Sound Force (my preference)
Cool Edit / Audition
Wavosaur (free)
Wavelab
Try Wavosaur to start with, as it's free (and really good):
http://www.wavosaur.com/
If that's not sufficient, try something else.

Separation At Aquilis - have some psychedelic dub techno!
Hello Ableton fans I posted some tunes to this forum a few months ago, and only had some iffy myspace streams to give you. I've since refined my sound and upped a few tracks to Soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/casimirs-blake ... including my newest piece "Separation At Aquilis". It's kind...

Re: Successfully Installed Windows 7 64-bit
Changed your mind then, Neb?
Edit: WebSite, give them a shout via e-mail. I loathe Ableton's authorisation system as much as the next HONEST BUYER, but at least they have always been quick to respond to my unlock requests.
And damnit Neb, I'm jealous of that Multiface too!

Re: Great 28 inch monitor for $300
I can only find this in the UK for about £280 cheapest (and £306 on Amazon). I've been looking at the Samsung T240 24" instead, as it's on offer at £230. I'm kinda concerned that the screen might be a bit glossy though. If I like it, I might buy another one in the future and have a dual monito...

Re: Komplete 5 399 .. is it worth it?
Hereschenes, thanks for your reply. Tbh, I'm completely put off by the idea I have to call someone in another country to "activate" software I've bought, if - for example - my broadband connection is down. Not great if you've got a creative spark going, eh? (Thank goodness I have some hard...

Re: Komplete 5 399 .. is it worth it?
Pffff this is tempting but I wonder how much I'd use any of it, other than Reaktor. That's if NI let me, I hate having to activate Live at Ableton's behest, let alone dealing with NI's supposedly erratic support. Edit: Not to mention that in the UK Komplete is going for £399 ! That's $651!! NI can b...

Re: waldorf largo : test it !
Largo requires a computer, and has activation or dongle protection. Another $150 and you have Blofeld, which is a real piece of hardware that's yours to do with as you please, when you please, and you can just hook up to a midi keyboard and jam with. No waiting for an OS to boot. If I didn't already...

Re: Live - windows7 & quadcore laptop
I have yet to have a liveset that takes more than 2gb of RAM. For me, the disadvantages of lack of driver support and some VST incompatibility issues makes it distinctly NOT the way to go. Driver support is improving all the time, the situation is far better now than it has ever been for XPx64. My ...

Re: Anyone using Intel i7?
Just a quick note of props for Scan. Been buying with them for YEARS, and have had very satisfactory service. A few RMAs here and there and they were always dealth with in swift time. Interested to see that they do in-house i7 overclocks with warranty cover though! Now I just need the money... (A Q6...

Re: Live - windows7 & quadcore laptop
Using Windows 7 64-bit with a Q6600, Ableton runs fine. Some VST plugins may not, under 7 64-bit, however. But these days, 64-bit is the recommended way to go.
7 is a huge step up from Vista in many ways. MS will have my preorder, I'm so happy with the RC (on my primary workstation!).

After the Bricasti IRs... you guys are on a roll AND on fire! Thank you very much for these samples! I've always wanted to try some of the MFB gear, as it seems to have a great rep.

Re: Windows 7 x64 is gonna ROCK for audio!!
I'm running Windows 7 RC 64-bit now on a Q6600, with Live 7. Tried a few VSTs, it all works very well.
I shan't be going back to XP on this system any more, 7 is more fluid, seems more reliable, and there are tons of little improvements that I know I'd miss.
