I am experiencing the opposite: my live set, with countless native and 3rd party plugins (snyths and FX) used 7.89 GB RAM and up to 40% CPU (Windows Task Manager), it's a pretty old lenovo laptop with 8 G RAM and a mobile i7 @ 2.8 Ghz. With the update to live 9.6, the Task Manager reports 5.52 G RAM...

push2, novation launch control XL and launch control.
i need faders, and a lot of knobs.
both in the studio and on stage.

go for push2 and intro, if you think you can save some cash in the next months and upgrade to suite.
You might even survive the first months without external soundcard.

i am keeping push1 after buying push2, push1 will stay in my gig bag and be part of my live setup.
i don't feel like gigging with push2 yet, as i don't have muscle memory with it yet.

i was very happy to see that the original cable of push 1 fits push 2! i also don't like the angled cable.

i chime in even though i don't have push2 yet but having used it a couple of times already i know i will complement push2 (which i will buy next year) with the same controllers i use now along push1 since a bit more than one year now: novation launch control and launch control XL. The reason is that...

also remove the stop buttons after the first slot, just in case you're triggering whole scenes, or else the recording clip will stop.

generally speaking i dont feel like using the laptop to record my performances, i always use a zoom h4.

at least we got a 3phase revival

i have several M4L devices in my live set and i never had any problems on stage... 20+ gigs and never one crash.
