One more question, is it possible use send 1 on one midi channel and send 2 on another channel? Yeah it works as normal in manual mapping mode and displays the correct channel number, eg 2/10. I can only seem to get live to recognise the default global channel (-1). I would like to have the volume sliders on channel 2 but live doesn't seem to pick them up. don't think there's an easy way, which is a shame.
I'm not infront of Live now but could you hit the change sample button on Implulse & then drag the sample from the browser in to a drum rack?

i dont understand what you mean. If you put an effect or instrument on a track it will come out in the render?

I wonder if you can reverse engineer the APC to work as some kind of emulation

haven't heard of that before. I can only think of updating the firmware (1.03 recently released) and making sure you have latest version of ableton.

Or try another USB port, maybe the one you are using is faulty.

do you mean parallel compression?
If you do then this isn't meant to be 100% wet, you blend it in with the dry signal

there's an issue with control surfaces in the cracks as well
