I use Sibelius. It will open any MIDI file.

I also use Sibelius a lot for the reverse- I score something in notation, and export each staff as a MIDI file with one of Sibelius 7's plugins.

It's plug and play with Live. Just add it to your control surfaces in your preferences.

Has anybody picked up this Maschine expansion yet? Read the fine (and not-so-fine) print before buying. I have the Orchestral Instruments Collection, which I like, but isn't perfect. For example, there is inexplicably no trombone solo samples, despite there being solo and section samples of every other instrument, including bass trombone.
