I've seen people recommend both this and the kx drivers, which are specific to the Live soundcards - is one preferable over another? I have no clue about the kx-drivers, sorry. I had some serious problems with my Audigy2ZS with Samplitude (ASIO is printed on the Soundblaster package, but not really...

As i see, you use an Soundblaster Audigy2. I would give asio4all a try. I used the Audigy2ZS (mobile) with my IBM T41 and the performance boost was amazing. Check it out, its free.

This is off course not a allpurpose-solution to speed up things.

You'll laugh: my problem is SPACE!
The BCR is only 20€ more than the X-Session. But at the moment, i don't have enough space for all of my stuff...

You may setup iTunes to create MP3 files, just change your preferences to MP3 and choose your quality. Use the "convert to MP3"-item from the context-menu to convert existing MP4/M4A to MP3.

However, this doesn't work with copyright-protected song from the iTunes-shop.

Not a real solution, but: set your display resolution to exact half of your original display size. This doubles up everything but you will loose half of your space.

This happens to me only if i try to warp to extreme (e.g. inserting a 90bpm track and set Live's tempo to 120bpm) or using "complex" as warping method. In general, MP3 works for me fine.

Hmm... Sounds a little bit strange to me. Try increase the buffer, if its to small, the cpu will hook. Just to see if there are any changes. I started to use Live 5 just a week ago and my first title was build of 9 tracks, 5 tracks with EQ's on it, some reverbs, two autopan's and both sends with rev...

I had to choose, too.

But i use Live more like a DAW, so the Mackie Mode makes more sense to me. I bought a cheap Evolution X-Session for quick assignments, this seems to me a good combination (a BCF and BCR would be near perfect )

i also got a BCF...what or where the heck is that "flip" you guys are talking about? First: congrats to your new controller! On the upper right corner are four buttons labled "encoder groups". If you turned up your BCF in "Mackie Control Mode Cubase", press both upper ...

This is exactly what the "TranzPort" does: It works as a transportcontroll within live. Works great!

Take also a look at Machinate's Tip. Should work also.

Aaah! I forget something: iTunes will double the files, so you'll have the original MP4 and the new MP3 wich is located by default inside the iTunes/Music-Folder. I simply select the previus converted MP4-files and then go to the "recently added" list (where you'll find your fresh MP3) and...

If you have used your iTunes to import all your audio from cd, i think it is mp4 by default wich is not supported by Live. On iTunes Preferences you may change the encoder to MP3 with your favorite settings. After that, all new imported (but not legaly buyed tracks from iTunes-store, they still copy...

I have to save all my CDs as single files, which kills the battery life... and you can't see the track titles, or skip. Just google a little bit, but its possible to create a audiobook from your cd. This is a single file containing bookmarks, each bookmark is your track with full navigation. Try go...

There is also iKey. Seems to be powerfull like QuicKeys and much cheaper - there seems to be an older version iKey called "Youpi Key" arround, that is for free.
