Re: creating momentary action for midi keyboard
If you're using something like a Monome then it's true you'd have to use the Live API to do this or an internal bus. But some controllers DO allow you to send toggle or momentary data when you hold the button down. Most of the "drum pad" type controllers do this. So depending on your cont...

Re: latency correction utility- is this feasible?
First, there is a tutorial project supplied with Live to help you set up the latency correction. Second, if you have 50 ms of latency something is seriously wrong...I can get down to 10 mS with a crappy laptop sound chip and down to 3 mS with my Firewire interface. Hi, thanks for the reply. I did g...

Re: latency correction utility- is this feasible?
Hi, sorry that wasn't clear. I'm experiencing minor latency when I'm monitoring that becomes very audible when I turn on delay compensation. What I normally do is monitor without delay compensation, then when I loop I set the clip start point ahead to make up for the 50 ms of latency. I'm looking to...

latency correction utility- is this feasible?
Hi- I've been struggling a lot with latency issues- I monitor instruments live through my inputs so using Delay Compensation is not an option for me. What I was thinking as a workaround was to create an M4L utility that could point to a clip I just recorded and nudge the clip start forward by 50 or ...

Re: creating momentary action for midi keyboard
Thanks everybody for the responses. The midiyoke solution looks pretty gnarly, but I guess if you've never used midipipe my solution wouldn't be much easier. The weird thing is that with all that Ableton can do after 10 years, they haven't added momentary as a feature.

Re: creating momentary action for midi keyboard
If anyone is curious about this, I gave up on this quest as I read somewhere that manipulating midi messages coming into an audio channel is very limited in live. But I was able to update a midipipe patch I had created to do multiple keyboard splits with message converters so that did the trick. If ...

creating momentary action for midi keyboard
I'm using a midi keyboard that can only send note on/off and trying to deal with the limitation of Live that only allows toggle for midi assignments. Can anyone steer me towards a solution or resource for a patch that can do this. I'm assuming I would need a send patch on a midi channel and a receiv...

Re: M4L Transposer devices not working correctly
I gave the patches a more thorough look this evening and can see where the errors came from; your pfft~ objects use some patches which I don't have. So that can be safely ignored. Still, from what you're describing I'm still quite tempted to blame initialization. Thanks again for your comments. For...

Re: M4L Transposer devices not working correctly
Thanks so much Peter, I really appreciate all this advice. To answer your question re chains, I am actually using this in an effect rack, sorry if I didn't make that clear. Do you know of any issues with putting M4L devices in racks per se? I will definitely try that trick with the Max window. Not s...

M4L Transposer devices not working correctly
Very weird issue with my live devices- I have a bunch in a chain that I created that are based on pfft transposers. I was attempting to automate the chain using dummy clips and discovered that there was no way to do this without a completely different configuration on the chain. Ok fine, so I create...

Re: Automating macro knobs in an effect chain with dummy clips
Have you tried automating the device on/off controls separately? Hi and thanks David. I did try automating them separately and found even then for some reason one tick of the cc was not enough to turn the device on and off. So I ended up spreading the chain out a bit and that did the trick. What I ...

Automating macro knobs in an effect chain with dummy clips
Weird situation here, hoping to get some insight on this challenge I am facing with my live ambition. I have an effect chain that I am using for some pitch-tracking and harmonization effects. In order to minimize the CPU load for these rather hungry M4L effects, I am using a solution I found in this...

pluggo objects missing?
I've been trying to use the pluggo patches in live but half of them don't put any sound through when I load them up. I was opening them up and searching for some of the unfamiliar objects and I found some stuff was missing. Is there a place to find all these objects in one place?

I have been looking at this feature, but can't figure out how it works. Do you know of a good tutorial?

Re: Polyslax - Imprint
Very cool, sounds like a lot of Warp records stuff- Brothom States, Boards of Canada, etc. Very cool textures, filtering, etc. I especially like the dubby delay and spring reverb sounds. Is that a real spring 'verb? One thing I would like to hear is a bit more rhythmic variation- the beats sound a b...
