But in summary you are not trying to cut everything, you are trying to make it sound good. If it sounds good then don't worry. If not then stack up EQ8 points or get a better EQ.

EQ cuts are not infinitely steep: sound doesn't work that way, it's impossible to cut frequency very precisely without also smearing the signal in time. This is interesting, I don't have L8 so don't know about limiter but I imagine it's not zero latency though (none of the best limiters are).

I wonder what happens if you try reverb, eq8 or ping pong delay. They should be zero latency. Plus your soundcard roundtrip of course.
