please help me figure out why i cant map my midi controller
it recognizes my oxygen 8 because it lets me play notes when i use operator. however im trying to map the keys to launch clips and in midi map map when i klick the clip i want then hit the key it dosnt recognize anything. My new laptop came with windows 64bit... i think i may need to update drivers?...

Thanks that helped. So once ive learned to use global quantization and swing my track will have "groove"? Quantize and swing make ur drum paterns sound more natural correct? somone said it was for live production, like launching clips with an apc 40.

also if anyone knows has any creative ideas right now im producing with a mouse keyboard and oxygen 8... any insight would be much apreciated after the midi mapping problem is solved. thanks everyone for your time.

For some reason i cant map my midi contoller... It plays notes in operator when i build sound, but im trying to map the keys to launch clips and also the knobs to peramaters but it dosnt seem to recognize any buttons i touch when im in midi map mode. So can I get some quick instructions or long, whatever ur down for. On, what exactly quantization is and how it affects your track. What exactly groove is an a what changing global groove dose. It seems like massive produces much dirtier sounds.. is it easy to use massive in conjunction with ableton? are there any other programs anyone would recomend looking into.

im not really trying to make a mix. im trying to make a drum beat. and i have the patern i want. its just i cant get the eq maybe or something right. i duno like i said maybe my speakers just suck... but i thought there might be a way to use the arpagiator or some effect to make smooter sounding.

ok the novation thing looks tight i checked it out. so with the launch pad theres no knobs or anything if ur playing live and u just wana add some effects how do u do that? have them assigned to a certain pad in each track? then u could control effects individually for each clip in each scene?? can ...
