Re: The nine point two thread
@ rydan Absolutely right Marty Mcfly. But...what if you find 9.2 unusable, you inadvertently save the set in 9.2 official (because you have been used to that function working with while you were switching the set between live 9.1.x and 9.2 Beta for testing) and decide that you want to continue with...

Re: The nine point two thread
Quite understandable. To be forwards-compatible, you would have to predict the future. That's kind of hard to do... =)Joel W-J wrote:Apologies if this has already been answered. I just wanted to warn people as quickly as possible when I saw the question...
9.1.x will not open sets saved in 9.2!

Re: Feedback option in AudioEffectRack
you should be aware that any feedback chains constructed will take that signal path out of the PDC calculations. This also happens with the feedback paths generated when sending an effects send/return back on itself too, because you can't calculate the latency. So don't plan on putting your feedbac...

Re: Feedback option in AudioEffectRack
think about Compressor's side chain input... now think about its listen mode... Yes, but it's a bit tedious. If you want to be able to feed back a chain on itself, you need to set up an effects rack at the beginning of the chain with one chain just passing through (to get the input signal in...

Re: Proper Comping feature
Yeah, well, the workarounds pretty much all stink, so the best workaround I've found is to mixdown a loop of what I'm doing, import to StudioOne free (which has an excellent comping function), do my recording and comping, and then export back from Studio One into Ableton.

Proper Comping feature
Pretty much the only thing I'm really missing from the "core" functionality currently is a proper comping feature.

Feedback option in AudioEffectRack
Would be fantastic to have adjustable feedback on each chain in an audio effects rack.
(Or even better, a pair of audio send/return plugins, so that you could split the audio path and send from anywhere to mix back in anywhere. Might be tricky to implement though perhaps...)

Re: Does anyone ever use Live's built-in synths?
Well, if I would have to pick a single strong point, I would say it's the almost modular routing possibilities (fantastic channel/sidechain routings, combined with racks). Live is a GREAT sound design environment.Buleriachk wrote:Ableton's strong point really is in its audio time stretching

Re: Does anyone ever use Live's built-in synths?
Sampler is fantastic! Much more of a "synth" than most other samplers.
Also tend to use impulse quite a lot. Really quick for just getting a few percussion samples into a project.

Re: Pitch Shift plugin
For audio. Realtime pitch shift. Not talking about transposing clips, but being able to pitch shift incoming audio in effects chains. Would be seriously useable for building eventide-style effects using effects racks with delays and pitch-shifters. Yes, there are third-party, but with that argument,...
