in session view active the + sign for overdubbing record.

Are You 100% sure the pack you want to install is meant for live 8? many are for live 9 now.
If the pack is available for live 8, I suggest you to contact customer support, they should give you a link for the right version of the pack compatible with live 8

Yes they are working on both 32 and 64 bits.
opposite to vst plugins for which you need the 64bit version to work with ableton live 64 bits [or some bridge app to make'em work]

Can't take a differing opinion uh? People can choose whatever placements they want of their files, but I mentioned my reasons for not make do with default paths. That I did so is not a personal critique of your choice, but an additional view point of alternative placements. give it up. you look dum...
