I am unsure as to what you are asking. What do you mean that you can't mono/stereo sounds individually in Live? Why can't you use panning on each track?

I have also synched two laptops to an EMU XL7 and that worked perfectly. The only time that I had an issue was when one laptop was synched to another via a MIDI cable from my Ultralight to a M-audio Uno.

my experience has been that the crappier the midi interface the more issues you have. and even if you have a great interface if they other one is crappy there will be issues. If you use the wireless method I have linked above you don't need anything else to sync.

Nope that isn't how cue works. Cue sends audio form the selected track to the assigned Cue out. It does not mute the track that you are cueing at the same time. I've tried it both ways (send and direct) and I haven't had any issues. What kind of interface do you have? can you try plugging the outputs from the KP3 into a different pair of inputs on the sound card? how are the inputs labeled?

Weird. I'm gonna have to try my KP3 in direct mode and see what happens.
