Re: Add new slice to midi track option?
i think i understand you (?) i just tried something like this, as a first shot. it pretty much works. not sure if it's exactly what you want -slice the sample to 8ths -duplicate the new clip on the new MIDI track, 7 times. -erase all but the first note on the first clip. erase all but the 2nd note o...

Re: Add new slice to midi track option?
yeah I reckon you'd save a simpler or sampler, with the release envelope all the way up, in your slicing defaults folder

Re: I'm thinking windows updates can stuff up Live
i think it is a mistake to update the OS because you "have the opportunity" updating anything should be done out of necessity, i.e. the update contains a fix to a problem which is interfering with your work and even in that case it would be done with the understanding that it could have un...

Re: Simple question about the library
in the preferences, you can manually choose the library location. once it is defined, search for .alp files, whether that might be on the installation discs or on the ableton website downloads area. (or various 3rd party content sites, for that matter) any .alp file (live pack) which you install whi...

Re: What's the difference between QUANTIZING and WARPING ?
quantizing has to do with MIDI notes, such as you would be recording off an electronic piano keyboard, which are telling a computerized instrument how to play. you set the "quantization" to a certain resolution, e.g. quarter notes, sixteenth notes, eighth note triplets, etc. and then human...

Re: My computer should be pretty good, but latency is not...
Type: WDM tldr but seems like your problem right there you need to figure out if there is an asio driver mode for your audio interface. in layman's terms, "wdm" driver means that your computer is running your audio through various systems which might be adequate for listening to the sound...

Re: is it possible (weird question)
I can't prove it but it does not sound impossible.
creating MIDI events is possible upon launching clips
translating MIDI events to keyboard and mouse strokes is possible
deleting clips is possible via keyboard and mouse actions
therefore ?

Re: Tempo changes and which warpsettings to use?
have you messed around with the warp master function? you can set a certain track as warp master (e.g. kick or snare or ??) and then live will create a tempo map such that this track will play back unaltered. your superimposed electronic stuff will therefore be warped to fit the acoustic stuff. prob...

Re: Record next available empty clip slot?
sounds like you've already figured it out, so I'll give up on communications... :) sorry dude. I was sick for the past couple of weeks, so didn't get on this too much. But I did get it to work. What it seems, is that I have to map each key on my board to each one of those "play/record/scene sl...

Re: MIDI connection help!
you seem up against some of the basic elements of troubleshooting.
you need some more devices for testing
there's probably a way to sort through your circumstances, but it's feeling like a sudoku atm.

Re: new mononome arc
to be fair, the quality of those encoders is surely not something you would encounter on other controllers? and the LED's are numerous and have many many levels of brightness AND it's made by hand by a couple of people living in the USA who have a certain level of self respect. so, it's expensive ;)...
