Recording into Live with an SM57 running XLR into a Tascam US-428 and getting this...

whats causing this?!

i've used the Rode a few times but actually found my cheaper Studio Projects C1 to sound a bit better sometimes.

and i second the SM57 recommendation.

Ps. a huge help would be letting me know where the pick sound is in the frequency range, i've been searching for it with an EQ for hours. and yes i've been looking around 700 - 1000Hz with no luck.

i've done a bunch of Video stuff in Live and its not as bad as you think, actually i find it works fairly well. Exporting could be a little better, but it works.

Sony Vegas is pretty good.
