A devout shamanist, Genghis Khan believed that his close standing with the divine helped him to win wars. He had often “felt the presence and heard the voice of God speaking directly to him in the vast open air of the mountains in his homeland and by following those words, he had become the conquer...

I tell you, if it was me growing the food, it's freaking hard work, and everyone except the people I like would be paying super huge terrific top dollar for it. And soon, they will, because it takes fuel to run the tractors and it's getting pretty pricey. What's interesting is that the people in th...

Yup. They bought the US debt.

It's one thing to have maxed out your Discover card buying gear.

I liked some of their earlier work.

On this album it seems like they found a good groove, but then could never find any progression or changes out of that groove...

Windows Movie Maker... but it is Bill Gate's idea of a joke.

Adobe Premiere for PC.

If you really get in to movie making you will find Final Cut Pro a godsend... but if you just want to play around with some ideas, go with Premiere.

I have read numerous reviews from respected magazines. Mainly Computer Music, Future Music, Music Tech and Electronic Musician. They have basically all said how great units such as the Edirol FA 101, the M-Audio devices Motu 828 MkII etc... I can't speak for all of them. I really like the Motu 828....

Just out of curiosity, how do you change the tempo during a set? If you have things set to say 130 bpm... are you stuck there all night? You can't really use envelopes with the song tempo track, can you? Especially if a track contains vocals that can't be warped very much at all... Usually in a real...

Once the file is a midi loop you can you'll notice the elements land just a little before or after the beat and bar markers in Ableton. If you zoom...

Mathew Jonson Live? Anybody from Vancouver?

Hi, I was curious if anybody has seen Matthew Jonson play live? What equipment is he using? Laptop, or is it all groove boxes, etc.? Just curious, it's really nice sounding on vinyl and I'd love to see it live but I'm painfully far away from anywhere he's been playing. For those who don't know him: ...
