Ermmmm, sorry but yes.
Thats like standing 10 ft from your drummer while playing live and for most of the drummers I've worked with, that's way too close.

Re: Tiny, fast audio interfaces - any news & recommendations?

I made them myself. The breakout cable uses a standard DE15 connector and the pin assignment is detailed in the manual (http://www.rme-audio.de/download/bface_e.pdf page 80).

It's simple to make your own custom configuration as long as you're ok with a soldering iron.

Re: Tiny, fast audio interfaces - any news & recommendations?

Man you're hard to please. :D The breakout cable is one of the things I like about the Babyface. The supplied one is permanently attached to my desktop set up and I made a couple of custom ones to hook up to whatever I need when mobile, one with xlr ins & 1/4" outs no headphone & no mid...

If you ignore the digital i/o its 2 in 4 out. I can't imagine the adat interface adding much pricewise, though for me it adds massively in flexibility .

I can't recommend either, as I've not tried them but what about the Apogee One or Duet?
They both seem well regarded.

Re: Tiny, fast audio interfaces - any news & recommendations?

RME Babyface I'm sure it's the best. But it's overkill, in every respect: 10x more connections than I need, a bit big, has this unwieldy breakout cable, costs 550€... Man I wish Apple hadn't killed Firewire. Thunderbolt will never become a proper replacement, because we'll only see huge high-end in...

Re: 8.3.1

other than the normal "crashes if you look at it" type stuff. well 8.3 was really kindof stable for me.. .but 8.3.1 is just ridiculous . had live screen disappear...when clicking the gui.. I mean.. crash.. but with no indication it crashed and no restoration of the session I was working o...

Re: 8.3.1

No major issues here, other than the normal "crashes if you look at it" type stuff.
Did a manual install to a new folder, had to rename the start menu shortcut, as "Live 8 already exists".

Re: Automap works!

Strange, I use Stretta's livecontrol script, it didn't delete that from the 8.3 folder, though I had to copy it over manually.

Already had a couple of crashes though, so while automap works now, Live still seems somewhat unreliable (nothing new there then).

Re: Automap works!

I noticed it here: https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=181939 Seems that it might break rewire, so be carefull not to over write your existing installation. Still not impressed with the auto update thing or the stupid new default install location but at least they've actually fixed som...

8.3.1 Release Notes

Bugfixes:
Fixed a bug which could lead to degraded resolution of automation data when recording automation for VST plugins running in Novation's automap shell.

It's been unuseable since 8.1.4 or thereabouts.

Automap works!

Thanks Ableton, for finally fixing automap support. At last I can use my Novation controllers as intended.

It's been so long since automap worked I'd forgotten how cool it is.
