Push overwriting MIDI clip in armed track
i'm new to Live 9 and Push, and i'm having a little problem… i'm sure there's a simple solution to this, but im struggling to find it. using the Push, when i come back to a project to add additional automation to a track, as soon as i start recording, Ableton overwrites the midi clip in the arrangem...

Re: Zero SL MKII - basic question; how to control FX sends?
i'm experience some strange behaviour from my Zero SL. i can only page forward/back in one direction. when controlling Live, i can only ever page-up through the mixer. so i can page-up and control channels 9-16, but then i can't page-down to go back to controlling channels 1-8. has anyone got any su...

Re: audio to midi tool? kick drum audio to midi note? (live 8)
im working in arrangement view, with large sections of audio (with loose live drums). the tool im looking for can detect audio and spit out a midi note. i know Logic can do it, in a long-winded and offline way. but im sure some clever cookie has worked out a way to achieve the same results in Live. ...

audio to midi tool? kick drum audio to midi note? (live 8)
quick question;
does anyone know a tool for converting audio to midi (using Live 8 )?
im working with some live drums, but i'd like to reinforce the kick drum with a thicker synthesized kick.
a tool that can focus on a particular frequency (the kick drum) and use this to create a midi message.

Re: Zero SL MKII - basic question; how to control FX sends?
On the far right are buttons. If you 'touch' your faders, they'll display volumes on the LCD. But when you tap the buttons on the right edge, you can switch modes. you mean the buttons on the lower-right? as in 'user', 'fx', 'inst' and 'mixer'? these are the only buttons (apart from the track selec...

Zero SL MKII - basic question; how to control FX sends?

Re: Live to sync to incoming audio source (drum machine)
launching both devices as close together as possible, then tightening with the tempo-nudge buttons is working for me (for studio jamming).
And they seem to stay pretty closely synced.

Live to sync to incoming audio source (drum machine)
can anyone think of a way to get Live to sync to an incoming audio source? (especially one with an obvious rhythm - like a drum machine) For example, I'd like to feed Live an input from a drum machine (in my case the DM1 ipad app) and have it recognise the tempo, then have Live slave to this (allowi...

Re: arming & selecting tracks via keyboard?
thanks a bunch antarktika : )
that all works really well.
found that "Plug-In Devices" worked, rather than "Plug In Devices"
why didn't I know about the alt+up/down shortcut years ago?!
good one : )

Re: arming & selecting tracks via keyboard?
It is easier to assign the number keys if you hold shift. It won't default, unless you already start with some kind of template. I'm not exactly sure what you mean... I should have mentioned in my original post, what I really want, is for the numerical keys 1-8 to work like the function keys (excep...

arming & selecting tracks via keyboard?
hi all, so the Function keys F1-F8 can be used to mute and unmute tracks 1-8. How can I set-up the numbers 1-8 to arm/disarm track 1-8? (I wish this was default). In a similar vein, how can you select tracks (mouse-free), thereby selecting the first device/rack in that track? It'd also be great to b...

Re: manually opening a project's saved undo history?
So it's been a few days and I still haven't been able to open the project.
Anyone got any tips? I reckon someone before me must have had a similar conundrum.
Have also gotten in touch with Ableton tech support. no reply as yet - maybe the NYE after-after-parties are still raging in Berlin?
