For horns, I've tried to use Reason's combinator horn patches, with some scream distortion to create an old, slightly distressed sound. Works all right. I'm just getting a hang of things myself.

Any tips on how to get that slightly dirty guitar tone from the original theme song? I have amplitube and tried using abe's built in guitar effects, but nothing sounds right...
Thanks.

That's fun. Reminds me a bit of 'squigglesonica', by Children of the Bong.

I'm not such a fan of the drums on 'electricactus'. I hate putting down something when it's different and unusual, but I thought they were distracting. Maybe some simple dynamic or filter effects would soften them a bit. I like the track 'Horizon on the clouds' a lot. So many ambient-ish songs lack ...

Not bad. I like the panning whoosh effect towards the end.

For dancing/club music check out Avalon, on Landsdowne st. behind fenway.
For a great variety of beer and $1 hamburgers check out Bukowski's, near Dillon's on Boylston.

Mm. I'm afraid it might be like that. I've heard not so good reviews on PVD. Mostly I want to see his set up and how it's done. I've seen very few live DJ's.
I'll let you know how it goes...

Paul Van Dyk

Anybody seeing him this friday in Boston?
I don't even like his music that much, but am looking forward to the show...
