Re: Reaktor 6 is here
I can't see Reaktor 6 in my plugin window. Live 32 bits installed. Rescaned my plugins... Nothing Anyone has an idea? Thanx This has been happening to me with Reaktor 5 for about 2 months now. Opened 2 support tickets, first one had no luck, second is awaiting an initial response from Ableton. Also...

Re: Ableton Live has become an unreliable mess.
My experience with Live 9.1 and 9.2b has not been in line with mhalloway's at all, which is interesting to me. I run Live on a 2012 Yosemite Retina MBP at work and a Windows 7 system at home. SSDs in both. At work, mostly audio recording/editing/chopping/outputting, super stable. Home, mostly music ...

Re: So, how long have YOU been using Ableton Live?
Was a Cakewalk/Sonar user from 2004 til 2010 or so. Downloaded a torrent of 8 around 2009 or so, couldn't make heads or tails of it and thought it was a clumsy, counterintuitive workflow. Didn't know the difference between Session and Arrangement view, so clicking the clip launch button and having i...

Re: Kick starts ringing after rendering
Not hearing any difference. DLed the Soundcloud version and the mp3 and they phase-cancel completely
What are you using to listen to the processed file on your machine? Maybe it's got a quirky mp3 codec in the mix somewhere.

Re: How to record mouse clicks in the piano roll?
1. Create a second MIDI track/dummy track and route the output of that to the Track In of the instrument you want played. Enable audition for dummy MIDI track. 2. Record-arm the instrument device track and the MIDI dummy, set to In or Auto for instrument track. 3. Start recording clip in live instru...

Re: How to make Kick Drums hit HARD
Something I've had luck with is adding a send channel with an EQ rolling off the highs (everything over 200-500hz depending on your Q and source material) and a strong compressor, then routing your kick and/or bass to it. If you play with the compressor envelope settings, you can get a lot of low-en...

Re: Ohmicide: Melohman in Ableton Live - how to?
1. New MIDI track, set the Output to the track with Ohmicide on it, and then choose the Ohmicide device within it 2. In Ohmicide, go to the Settings wrench and choose Mehloman Settings, and choose which MIDI Octave you want, as well as any other pertinent info 3. Send MIDI notes from the MIDI track ...

Re: The Live 9 Compressor - How is it?
What's not to like? I've now got Waves Renaissance Channel, C1, C4 (no sidechain), NI Solid Bus Comp and NI Solid Dynamics. Somehow Glue seems to affect the sound so transparently to almost become unhearable. I think that's the point, isn't it? C1 is almost completely transparent though. Are there ...

Re: The Live 9 Compressor - How is it?
I find the stock compressor is fine, but it takes me more time/effort to get a sound I'm happy with than it does with the Glue. I love the Glue and use it on almost everything (except sidechaining, which I don't like it that much for). That said, I also got Presswerk due to its being on sale and hav...

Re: Live 9 too many crashes ?
Up until a few weeks ago, Live 9 was rock solid. Live 8 was a crashfest, but after 9.0.1 or so, I had probably a solid year with barely a single crash. Now though, 9.1.5 is crashing all the time. The same VSTs I've always been using (recently started using Geist, but crashes have been happening even...

Re: How do you comp from multiple takes?
I use session view to record multiple takes on the track with all the effects etc. that I will be using, then once I have done the takes, I will one or more blank audio tracks as a dump space for extra takes. Drag a track on, and then just audition different pieces of the various takes. As long as y...

Open a support ticket? Emailing crash reports just sends them to an automated queue.

Re: Why is my kick drum synth Max instrument broken?
Cool. My hesitation was just how long it will take to re-download and install, but if that's easiest/most complete, that'll be what I do.
