Re: Abes Please Read! *Really* simple way to improve the APC40
Also, how about a box to show you what 'Device Control' is currently controlling? As in, if you are in bank 1, it highlights the first 8 parameters, bank 2 highlights the second 8, etc..

Make the cake more tasty instead of covering it in frosting!
I want to state first that I consider Ableton the most creative music production software out there. Nothing else compares. However, has anyone noticed that there are a handful of improvements that would take a small amount of programming time but save EVERY USER huge amounts of workflow time? Inste...

Abes Please Read! *Really* simple way to improve the APC40
Hi, I just got my APC40. It is indeed awesome. However, I would like to suggest a *REALLY* easy feature to implement that would make it far easier to use. When you hold down shift the clip launch buttons on the APC light up to illustrate where you can jump around the clip view. But why is this not r...

Please Help! How to overdub one lane of midi automation?!?!
Hi, I want to record midi automation into the arrange one part at a time using the knobs on my Remote SL. The problem is when in overdub mode it doesn't seem to be possible to record one lane of automation via the Remote SL continuous controllers without wiping the other automation lanes. Overdub mo...

Toggle for On/Off Buttons?
Hi, How do I get a midi controller button (like those on the middle row of the Remote SL) to do toggle for on/off switches in Live? I can assign a button but I have to hold it down to stay on. I've tried changing the CC range and numbers in Live but I haven't edited the Remote SL because it's the au...

Is this a Grain Delay Clip Envelope Bug?
Hi, The Pitch clip envelope for Grain Delay displays -36 to +12 which is indeed the range for the grain delay. However, it seems to work as a relative adjustment and so should it not be a percentage if that is the case? I was trying to figure out why my clip envelope wasn't working as I wanted becau...

Adding Gain via the Master Fader?
Hi, I was wondering how adding gain via the master fader in Live works compared to a traditional analogue mixer. When mixing it is unlikely any individual tracks will be at unity, they are far more likely to have had their gain reduced somewhat. So if you still have some headroom on the master outpu...

Re: Live 7 - Loop a clip but not have the note re-play?
I'm kinda thinking 'infinite sustain' though... like sending a note on message or gate open message but nothing else.
If that's what you're talking about maybe you could make a screenshot?
Thanks,
Alex

Re: Alt-Dragging an Instrument to another track Bugs
Hey Jok,
Sorry I should have included this info. I'm on a 2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro running Ableton Live 8.01 and OSX 10.5.6.
I've asked a friend running Live to check and he'll check later today. He's on an identical system though.
All the best,
Alex

Alt-Dragging an Instrument to another track Bugs
Hi, If you alt-drag a plugin (e.g. Operator) from one midi track to an empty track it copies Operator to the new track. All good. Unfortunately there are a lot of bugs if you alt-drag a plugin in any other way. For example; If you alt-drag an Operator from one midi track over an Operator on another ...

Re: Live 7 - Loop a clip but not have the note re-play?
Sorry, I'm not sure if I understand fully but this seems related to something I've wanted to do... if you have a clip in session view that contains one sustained note, how do you have the note stay sustained and not re-triggered even when the clip restarts? If I have the note last longer than the lo...

Re: Is Input Latency' audio input latency or midi input latency?
Oh, any idea what midi latency tends to be like? I'm using the Fireface 400 for my external synths and keyboards and a also a Remote SL via USB.
Thanks,
Alex
Thanks,
Alex

Is Input Latency' audio input latency or midi input latency?
Hi, I want to know if input latency refers to audio latency or both audio and midi latency? I'm using an RME Fireface 400 for both audio and midi. At 192 samples I'm getting 6.83ms Input latency and 6.53ms Output Latency for a total overall latency of 13.4ms. However when I play midi virtual instrum...
