Re: rendering in 96 K

I think there is a little confusion going on here. • The clocking on your audio interface is based on the driver settings in your DAW - i.e., Live - or possibly also a software control panel that is installed with the drivers. Indeed. In this case, it is based on whatever I set my edirol at. Not a ...

Re: rendering in 96 K

With the sound card (or audio export) at 41 100 the reverb channel is merely soft. With the sound card at 96K, or mixing down at that rat, that same reverb is completely shimmering with high end. yes it's the FX that it will be noticed on - over-sampling is the reason. It is noticeable on the other...

fishmonkey wrote:what is the "In/Out Sample Rate" setting in your Live Preferences? and what is your "Default SR & Pitch Conversion" setting?
Well in the first clip it is 41 100 and in the second, 96 K

In both the conversion is normal

http://soundcloud.com/quiet_ou/buzz-wobble-1-41-100

http://soundcloud.com/quiet_ou/buzz-wobble-2-96-k

this is just the wav, uploaded to SC and then transcoded by them. Even so the difference is quite radical.

Re: rendering in 96 K

Nothing out of the ordinary. At the moment, about 8 tracks, one with Collision put through a hats/cymbal type reverb (to increase the high end) with LOTS of reverb (a plugin called Ambience, I am sure you know it!) . With the sound card (or audio export) at 41 100 the reverb channel is merely soft. ...

Re: rendering in 96 K

Thanks Tarekith I experimented a little more and I found I was mistaken. When I changed my soundcard to 96 K, this did not update to the audio interface, so Live was still rendering in 41 1. When I redid my audio, I do find that working in 96 K in live changes the audio quality *markedly*. There's w...

Re: rendering in 96 K

Just a note: The same happens if I reset my soundcard to render in 96 K:

- Sound from Live and the sound from a 44 100 K render is similar
- Sound from a 96 render is very toppy and bright and sounds different from Live

What gives?

rendering in 96 K

Hi everybody, n00b here, I am not sure whether this is the right thread or forum in which to post this question I have noticed a very radical difference in the sound when I render in 96 K instead of 41 100. Not just a subtle quality difference, a complete difference in how it sounds. Much more tops...

Re: Live + Reason + Windows 7 = crash?

Just a quick note - I had exactly this same problem. Live 8.2.6 Reason 3 Windows 7 Rewire recently installed Every time I started Reason in slave mode, Live crashed. I looked for and found an old version of rewire in my winsdows syswow64 folder Moved that into my AppData folder And (for now at least...

My assumption is that you THINK you want it to be louder because most commercial tracks sound louder. They sound louder because they have been compressed and mastered so that the apparent loudness is higher. So take the mixdown as is - don't let the level indicator go into red, and use a wave editor...

Controlling my Access Virus KC with Live

Hi I am a n00b on this forum so forgive if question is simple or has been answered. I searched the forum and could not find a thread on this. I am running an Access Virus KC with Live (currently 5; planning to upgrade to 7 sometime soon). I am trying to automate the Virus from Live... when I ...
