Re: Music Aesthetic

Yes, I was going to repeat what others are hinting at here. If you don't want to make noise.. then make music! Really, its stuff between your ears that decides what is or is not "music" or art. My only observation is that some of these new resources, like Live and other forms of electronic...

Re: Live 9.6 Crashed but no autosave or crash folder?

Live crashed on me and when it I opened it again it didn't give me the option to go to work I was working on just opened a new set. Then when I opened the project I was working on it was a version from about 8 hours, which I'd actually saved after several times. It didn't register that there has ev...

Re: Windows 10.. Is it a lemon?

Windows 10 has been working fine for me. So has my Focusrite 8i6 which is nearly four years old at this point. It's interesting to know what Sample rate you are using in Ableton? Default 44,1kHz? As my problems with the Focusrite 6i6 (crashes, hangups, etc) started when using 48 kHz sample rate in ...

Re: Push 2 - Crackle on sample playback

I've noticed a weird crackle noise when using simpler with ableton push 2. Its not CPU related as it happens when I trial on 1 track in a new project and after testing it doesn't appear to be sound card related. Basically if i load in a sample and play it across the keys I get a crackle at the star...

Re: Wow! 16 GB not enough RAM?

From my experience, it's pretty CPU heavy. (I5 4670K). Ram really isn't the issue. I think in the device you are using there is a quality setting which you can lower to decrease the CPU usage. The more manipulative you get though, the more resources it's going to eat up. One other thing to note is ...

Any suggestions on a good protective Push2 carrying Case?

I want to make this thing semi Portable. I want to put the Push2, My Mac Mini, a few cables and possibly throw in a MIDI/Audio interface if it would fit. So far the The best i've seen are some hardshell DJ turntable cases... The main thing I want to be sure of is that nothing will flop around and da...

Re: Windows 10.. Is it a lemon?

Is it [Windows 10] really this BAD???? I installed it on my Mac Mini, and I don't have any of these problems! I assume you mean you installed Live on your Mini in OS X? What version of OS X? I'm sure others will disagree but Windows 10 has looked like a big virus from the get go. From I understand ...

Re: USB Audio Interface Recommendations, Please?

I've heard good things about the Steinberg audio interfaces, supposedly they test as well as some much higher end soundcards. Haven't heard one myself though. For some reason it seems like the Focusrite cards seem to be having a lot of issues lately, not sure why. Could just be more peopel have the...

Wow! 16 GB not enough RAM?

I have a question regarding Max for live and performance. I just downloaded a free Max for Live Pack "Max 7 Pitch and Time Machines". I was just playing around and found one particularly intriguing simpler patch from it called "More Simpler". When you play enough with the control...

Re: Recording samples from live

Some sound cards and Audio interfaces will have a setting that will allow software to take exclusive control of the Audio interface. Which OS are you using? is the PC or Mac? If its a recent Windows OS like 8 or 8.1 or 10, If you open the Sound properties of whatever your sound device "speakers...

Re: Live set crashing/beachball issues

Downloaded a live set, which has 100+ scenes But everytime I do something within the live set, my comp freezes. Why would this happen? Even when importing only the kick drum midi pattern, to a new live set, I'm getting issues. Cpu is max 10%. Anyone able to help or suggest anything I can do? How mu...

Re: how to connect

. I haven’t looked into it yet but I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to seamlessly mirror auto save a folder on your desktop to Dropbox. Seems like it would be a common need these days. As far as remembering where files and folders are in order to not break the link, I never really move folders...

Copying a clip from Arrangement view to Session view

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to take a Loop created in a loop brace in Arranger view and make it into a clip I can place in a slot in Session view! Here is the problem I am having: 1) I highlight say 2 bars of Audio in an audio track in Arrangement view. 2) I select the region of Audio I want a...
