Re: USB Audio Interface Recommendations, Please?
Any thoughts and recommendations on a good USB audio interface? I compared half a dozen and narrowed down to: > TASCAM US-1200 > ROLAND UA-22 DUO CAPTURE EX I like the TASCAM's 6 inputs (and other features - "low-latency monitoring, high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio, on-board DSP mixing, and ...

Live Packs - extra space?
Hi, I know there are tons of references in here to how Live Packs are installed, but I still am rather confused by the process. I downloaded all the packs. they are sitting in a download directory. When I install the packs. they appear to all get get uncompressed and installed somewhere else. Are th...

Re: sharing Ableton library on 2 computers?
I have two computers running two separate instances of Ableton Live (right now I'm using 8 but I plan on getting 9). They are synced via LAN and I'm working on configuring them so that the audio on 1 computer is transmitted via LAN to the other computer so that both computers can run their own inst...

Re: New Clip Only on Selected Track
That's because you're in scene mode (have a look at the setup page). You can either press shift+new, or use the clip mode instead. Hmmm... No, I don't know, So far I haven't had the expected behavior when I press shift+new. What I want to happen is that I press some magic combination of controller ...

Re: Whoa! Mapping 3rd party plugins!!! Snap!
Darn! This is perplexing! I figured out you can save the Preset or bank file when you have the 3rd party plugin loaded.. and you can save where you want it in under Userlibrary/Presets. However, if I then delete the track, and then load the plugin into a different MIDI track and open that preset ( a...

Whoa! Mapping 3rd party plugins!!! Snap!
I just discovered the ability to map 3rd party plugin parameters with Push2! Holy Cow Batman!!! this is Awesome!!!! Ok, (ahem! Calming down!) Can anyone tell me once you've got a 3rd party plugin mapped (... Holy Smokes!!!) Is there a way to save that mapping, so that the next time you open that Plu...

Re: Why Does Midi Mapping record Midi Notes as Midi triggers?
Change the midi channel of either the keyboard or the pedal board. (And then remap it) Or, on the keyboard, turn off 'Remote' in midi preferences. This is only an option of you don't midi map the keyboard in midi mapping mode (blue screen). If it has pre mapping as a control surface, it won't be af...

Why Does Midi Mapping record Midi Notes as Midi triggers?
This is flabbergasting!!!!! AAAAHHH! I don't understand why Ableton records a regular Midi Note For some of the controls! For example, I have a simple foot pedal I'd like to map to the "Session Record" control. However it records the mapping as "Note B2" !!!!! The foot ped...

Re: Setting a Loop Before I record a clip
sadly, I don't think you can set a loop length BEFORE you record a clip into Session View. Stupid right? The only way I've ever gotten this to work is by using a footswitch with Push but still, that's not the same as setting a loop length before recording (like an MPC-not sure why Live still won't ...

Re: ASIO Driver
It may help with latency on your sample libraries and/or the live audio you record or audio loops brought in. I have an M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 and I have no latency issues because all it generates is MIDI messages of one type or another. Hey, I'm a new Live 9.5 user and I have a Keystation Pro 8...

Live Instrument Key range.
I have yet another mystery I haven't solved. I notice that Live Instruments with racks, seem to have a limited key range. For example "Mystic Trombone" only goes from G0 to E2!! I don't care about going lower, but I know trombonists can play higher that E2! So Why the limited range? And ho...

Re: Setting a Loop Before I record a clip
Ok, An amendment to the original Post: I just had an "Aha!" moment. :!: (sigh!) I'm afraid I made the mistake of relying on "How to use Live" videos based on previous versions. So Imagine my confusion when i keymap the "Arrangement Overdub" button (now a Plus Icon) in S...
