Re: Bag for TiBook + Oxy8+ Duo and accessories.

I've noticed this bag at the apple store called Titanium 1 ...but can't recall the brand or the size...any hint? I have the Titanium 1 bag. It's made by Brenthaven, but I think you can only buy it at the Apple Store (online or their retail stores). It's an excellent bag, and should have room for yo...

Agreed, I have already done that. However, having Sherlock active is essential when working on tracks and searching for that special sample that you can't seem to remember what folder it is in. Just remove the "find by content" and "FBC indexing scheduler" extensions. Then you c...

Gerhard, Thanks as always for taking care of us on the boards, even when we're whining. :) I very much appreciate your dedication to serving the users, and also Ableton's dedication to making sure Live stays a solid, totally well-thought-out product. I for one am happy without MIDI (my hardware has ...

I must day that it is pretty wack that they would design gear with the same driver since many people would probably want to use both. Hi Jory, Speaking for embedded systems developers everywhere, I say it's great that they can use the same driver for both -- less code to maintain, fewer support pro...

I'm a huge fan of graphics tables. I've been using Wacom 6x8's on my machine for years, and they're great for lots of stuff outside of Photoshop -- especially Live. I wouldn't think of using anything else. My current system is a PowerBook G4/550 with a Wacom 6x8 Intuos 2 (USB) under OS X (10.1.5). T...

As for "slowy," the rev-2 TiBooks (550/667) had slow cache, so for audio stuff they were *slower* than the rev-1 TiBooks. A rather bad move on Apple's part. But the current (rev-3 667/800) PowerBooks are much better. They rock. FWIW, I have a TiBook 550 (worst of the worst for audio) and I...

I have the Brenthaven TiBook case ($150 at Apple store) and it's great. Very good protection, even though it's a soft case. As for audio interface, you'll laugh at this, but I'm using the headphone jack. It actually works fine for what I'm doing at the moment (playing electronic drums in a band, usi...

As for reliability questions: MacOS X is the first OS I really *trust*. I've used Macs, PCs, SGIs, etc. over the years (though not for music) and MacOS X is by far the most stable and consistent OS I've used. I run Live 1.5 with no problems. Right now I'm performing with Reason only (still working i...

I think it's dead because some browsers still display the "forums are down" page. At work my MSIE, in typical Windows fashion, displays the no-forums page and hitting reload, clearing caches, etc. does nothing to fix it. It keeps using the old cached page. Come here on my PowerBook, and no...

I use a Wacom graphics tablet myself. (Bought it for Photoshop many years ago -- now I have one 6x9 tablet on each computer.) Totally rocks. Very comfortable and fast to use. Great for RTS games like Starcraft, too! :)

PowerMate and Live: what can you do with it?

Hi all, I've been thinking about buying a Griffin PowerMate, and I saw the post in the "problems" forum saying it works great with OS X. My question: what can you do with it? I was thinking it might be worth $45 to have a system volume knob on my PowerBook, but if you can use it to control...

T-shirts for us US people?

Hello,

I'd love to get a Live T-shirt, but the shipping cost to the US is as expensive as the shirt itself. Would you consider distributing some of these through Midiman so we could get more reasonable shipping costs?

Thanks,
Josh

My system is a PowerBook G4/550 (OS X) and I also use Live on an old G3/300 (OS 9.2). The G3 stutters a little bit every now and then (v1.5), but the PowerBook is solid, and that's what I use for live shows. (Though I'm not using Live live yet -- I just got it a couple weeks ago.) I also run Reason ...

ah-ha!

Okay, Gerhard's post in another thread was the key to my first problem (monitoring Reason): take a track, record-enable it, select all the clip slots, then do a "Remote Slot Button" (command-E). Now flipping among scenes will leave the track in record-enable but not actually record there. ...
