Re: UNRELEASED Pretty Lights - Defocused On The Bright Diamonds

I just want to know why he can miss/skip hitting the pads and still get a sound to trigger off? WHERE IS THAT FEATURE!? ... It's always been "is he really doing anything?" at EVERY Pretty Lights set i've been to.. but he sells out venues everywhere so who gives two shits what I have to say...

Re: How do you move between Live sets when you are playing live?

I bounce all my projects down to 5 stems and then chop them up ala the Tom Cosm method.. I try to incorporate clips with interesting launch quantization so I can play around with the samples that I setup for each track. Sometimes theres follow actions, some dummy clip stuff or whatever I can come up...

Re: Saving live set

Hey guys just a quick question. I know how to save my live sets but I don't know how to set the length.. My song will save from start to finish but the ending point will be right when the last sound goes off and I want there to be about 10 seconds of fade away at the end of my track. Any feedback w...

Re: KORG microKEY

$99 everywhere I've seen it, free shipping because the stores didn't have it in stock yet..

I know I was wanting too much to put the APC40 through it, but I figured if it was like any other USB hub - would need the device to be powered from the wall if it couldn't get power thru the bus.. :?

KORG microKEY

Cool little unit, the keys are definitely not the same as the microKORG, as people mentioned, but the mod and pitch bend are definitely the same.. I'd say the keys are bigger and higher quality than the microKORG.. Just wanted to mention that the USB hub feature is your typical half-assed implimenta...

Re: Ableton + Stutter edit = buggy

Stutter Edit CAN be automated. Not in the traditional sense og drawing lines of automation but by using a MIDI track that is armed and drawing in the notes. and I supposed you can draw in the pitch bend and mod wheel automation as well but people want to really get in there and automate all the par...

Re: Ableton + Stutter edit = buggy

Also might have something to do with the fact that stutter edit needs to be constantly buffering

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.

Hello noble Ableton Enthusiasts, Has anyone figured out how, when using the Step sequencer, to change Midi clips and get the Button Mattrix to refresh? It seems as though it will only "change clips" if manually selected with the mouse. Example: Clip one: - Holds a sequence Clip 2: - Holds...

Pitch Black wrote:+1. IMO The Q setting of the master filter is too high. Too resonant for my taste.

Re: BT's Stutter Edit is out

They need to fix that filter it FREAKS out every time I use it, it peaks like crazy and it hits those certain frequencies that are just horrible

Re: BT's Stutter Edit is out

Cheers for the info on the controller. I'm going to download the demo over the weekend and have a play with Stutter Edit. It's pretty weird that parameters etc cant be assigned to knobs and that everything is just triggered with keys. Maybe it'll make more sense when I have a play with it. I feel l...

Re: BT's Stutter Edit is out

Stutter Edit goes on the track with the sample. You then need to add a midi track that sends midi to that audio track. I found the easiest way to do this was to use the external instrument plugin send midi to the other track. That way midi notes didn't have to be played live. You can use a midi cli...

Re: Deleting Clips with APC40

isnt there a controller than has a touch pad that you can use as a mouse on your screen along with the apc40 hooked up while ableton is going? I saw this once but had no idea what i was looking at. so, its possible to have a peripheral that actually integrates with the program and provides you a to...

Re: Using Multiple Non-Native USB Midi Devices

AFAIK on PC machines you ALWAYS have to plug your MIDI devices into the same USB port or else it installs more drivers or duplicates and yada yada before you know it it's pretty out of hand
