I would recommend listening to a pair of Sennheiser HD280s. They are rugged, they are sealed, they are comfortable, they sound great, and at $99, they are in well within your price range. They are 64 ohms, so on any given sound source, they can be loud if you want them that way. I use them for track...

I agree with those who posted regarding the Grand Piano sample, it is much nicer than any of the other acoustic piano samples that come with Live. It is actually usable. Session drums is my goto drum tool now. I only use one or two kits from it, but I like them very much. They are mapped weirdly tho...

I think six oclock has nailed it down somewhat. I am looking for what you call a rompler. I call them all synths. I think when you guys hear the word synth, you think of things like Jupiter 8s, Prophet 5s, or emulations thereof. To me, a synth is roughly anything that has a keyboard and makes sound....

Soft synth for "bread n butter" sounds?
All, Up until now I have been using a Triton Extreme plus various old analogs to record with in Ableton. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a soft synth that is like the Triton in that it has a lot of usable keys, bass, pads, strings, organs and other essential rock sounds on it. I like the Able...

Awesome, but probably photoshopped. Bush 41 threw up on the Japan PM. Bob Dole fell off a stage while campaigning. The public record of Clinton's presidency includes a blue dress with his splooge on it. I'm not really sure where Bush falls on the grand scale of gaffes. Probably not really high. Thou...

UncleT, I have downloaded the groove monkey samples, but they don't sound right. They all have a lot of crash cymbal in them, which I suspect is supposed to be hi-hat. Are these not mapped right for Impulse or session drums? I have tried both. How are you playing the groove monkey clips in Ableton? ...

Can anyone recommend a drum tool?
Hi all, I am looking for a drum tool that will give me just basic rock and ballad type beats. I am envisioning a tool that has some different kits, plus a lot of different beats that go along with them. Within each beat, there would be snippits like the beat itself, the beat with ride, fills, breaks...
