Re: Daft Punk Vocal Effect
I believe that Daft Punk use a device called a Talkbox for those songs, although you can achieve very similar sounds by using what's called as a Vocoder (which is also included in Live). I'd do a bit of research into how to use a Vocoder.

Re: Dear god tell me this is possible
Unfortunately, if you're looking to do this in realtime, you'd need Autotune, which you can't natively accomplish in Ableton. I've actually been hoping for a native Autotune/formant shifting effect for a while now. Now, if you're looking for plugins, iZotope Nectar is really solid. It's a vocal suit...

Have you looked into Autotune?

Re: Swing with Ableton
After playing around I gave up. I can only do swing with the quantize percentage for a groove if that groove is selected for all my clips. And I cannot control that parameter via midi. :/ The groove function is gold, even if there seems to be forces within Ableton that refuse to understand how good...

Re: Swing with Ableton
the arp has a swing Again though, you have to choose between 8, 16, or 32. I'd love to see a continuous swing slider. you have free rate.....thats continuous Right, but as far as I'm aware, the arpeggiator's free rate has nothing to do with any swing, and regardless the arpeggiator wouldn't help yo...

Swing with Ableton
Hey guys, so I've been trying to achieve some swing with Ableton and, while I've managed to do it, I'm not exactly a fan of the groove system or having to choose between 32, 16, or 8th note swing. Other things I've worked with like Maschine simply have a single control for swing ranging from 0 to 10...

Re: Midi Dropouts with Korg MicroKey 37
I ultimately just ended up getting a replacement from Korg for free which worked fine and has worked ever since. I'm not sure but there may be several faulty units that just crap out after a while.

Re: What Would Two Identical Compressors Next To Each Other Do?
Thanks for the advice guys. I like to think I understand how compressors work, as I've done a lot of reading on the topic, yet I still can't seem to get what I'm looking for. I suppose my question at this point would be, is there any real reason not to just keep the two compressors rather than reduc...

What Would Two Identical Compressors Next To Each Other Do?
Hey guys! So I've been working on a mix for a song and I'm running into a problem that I just can't figure out. I'm revisiting a song and I think it was a mistake that I liked and kept, but I have a bass synth line that's being side-chain compressed via a kick for the classic pumping effect but what...

Problem Midi-Mapping Soundtoys EchoBoy
Hey guys! So I've been playing around with the EchoBoy delay plugin for a bit now but I'm running into kind of a big problem with it. I'm trying to get the tape-based pitch-shifting delay sound out of the plugin, which works fine if you adjust the delay rate parameter from inside the plugin, however...

Re: Tips for Making a Solid Sub-Bass
I suppose the person I most aspire to when it comes to sub bass is Jamie XX.
https://youtu.be/0fOHh5Q7Q1E
I find the sub-bass in this song, for instance, absolutely phenomenal. Especially at parts in the song like 4:30.
Any advice on how to head in this direction?

Re: Avoiding Master Channel
You could always try making a dedicated audio track just for that effect, and only sending the audio tracks though it that you want affected. To do that you make a new audio track, select "No Input" under Audio from, the under the audio tracks you want effected, select your new track under...

Re: Tips for Making a Solid Sub-Bass
I suppose it's worth clarifying here that what I'm looking for isn't so much of a sub-bass that's working in conjunction with other bass synthesizers but that works on it's own and encompasses a very heavy low end. Maybe a better way to phrase what I'm looking for is a bass with a very strong sub-ba...
