Re: Does anyone use a Mackie Blackjack with Live 8?

:-(
i hope you'll find the culprit and a solution...because it's a very cool soundcard on mac and it sounds really good..

Re: Best under $200 sound card?

If you're going to move from a FW card to an usb one, you can only be disappointed. my opinion i'm coming from a MOTU ultralite (firewire) that worked perfectly, but too much ins/outs for what i do now.. So, i sold it to get something smaller... and i'm no disappointed at all with the mackie blackj...

Re: Best under $200 sound card?

You're right, I don't have any real world experience about USB interfaces, and I didn't mean to come out as offensive as you experienced it, I wasn't suggesting anything, more like asking and trying to be funny at the same time. My apologies.
ok, apologies accepted...

Re: Best under $200 sound card?

Because USB1.1 isn't known as the fastest port ever build. i know that.... for 2 ins and out @44,1khz it's more than adequate and you can get really good latency....i can go down as low as 64 buffer with no problems (3,72ms IN and 2,97 ms out..)..so i think you just reapeat what you read on forums ...

Re: Best under $200 sound card?

And the latency is measured in seconds?
why saying that ??

I get 4,4 ms out latency @44,1khz and 128 buffer......it's as good as an RME babyface.....

Re: Best under $200 sound card?

as you're on mac,if you don't need midi, spdif, and if two ins/out are enough : the mackie blackjack is perfect Excellent converters, excellents preamps.. Rock solid stability core audio compatibility on mac.. limitations : no 96khz (44,1/48 khz) USB1.1 (but it's not a limitation at all for 2ins/out...

Re: LIVE 8 PERFORMANCE TEST - Results Here

How come I have the same RAM, a 3.06Ghz core 2 duo imac, and 40% in the test? Actually my RAM is only 1067 MHz anyone any ideas? You can't compare a Core duo with a core I5 a Core I5 sandy bridge, even with a slower CPU clock is a lot more powerful than a core duo... simple as that i had a core duo...

Re: LIVE 8 PERFORMANCE TEST - Results Here

mm. This is what confuses me. My Dell 1458 notebook (Q740 @ 1.73ghz) does around 27%. Shouldn't this particular MBP be faster than Dell 1458? This is a last year DUAL core macbook pro an your DELL is a QUADCORE, so it's completely normal :-) they both have last year I7 CPU.. With the new macbook pr...

Re: New MBP's and the death of desktops for us studio nerds?

@ Tarekith; I don't think that your assumption is correct, because of the fact that these i7 processors are a new generation they could be more powerful per Ghz then the ones that were introduced last year. A Pentium 2.8Ghz will be beaten by any i3, i5 or i7 processor on any clockspeed... +1 and Th...
