Re: About the sounds in Suite.

If I remember correctly, when I unboxed Suite and installed it, it put a bunch of live packs in a directory that I had to install to the program manually. Just open up live's preferences and go to the tab that mentions Live Packs or add ins. Then you can search and add them in like this, if you have...

Re: Help with warping at beginning of songs

Yep, I think that method is the quickest, thanks for sharing ^^^ just to recap: - First, turn off autowarp, it will save you some time :) - Load in your clip ( you can turn off warping in the clip properties if it DOES, in fact, autowarp the clip) - Find your first downbeat after the intro and drop ...

Re: Warping non EDM songs

I'd prefer not to use Warp Markers (the yellow fellas) and would rather use warp markers? (the grey ones). Hah, I forget the two names specifically. What I've been doing is using a tutorial I found on youtube by dub spot. Basically, here are the steps: 1) setup your preferences so when you load a fu...

Warping non EDM songs

We all have our ways of warping and there are a million vids on youtube showing how to warp. But, they only help with electronic music where the kicks and snares are pretty quantized. Seriously, I have yet to find a video showing how to properly warp a non electronic track. For example: I want to sa...

Re: Help with warping at beginning of songs

I know exactly what you mean. So, if I'm understanding correctly, the intro is kind of free form but you want to keep it tight for your reasons? It's very similar to when I was warping Skin Tight by the Ohio Players. What I did was this: Find where the first kick comes in (the first beat of the bar)...

Re: Mastering - multiple songs to the same levels?

Decent speakers - yes. Treated room - nope! But for my purposes I'm just going to master on my own first. If I ever wish to make a proper release then I'll hire a mastering engineer.

Mastering - multiple songs to the same levels?

Quick question. When mastering multiple tracks, what's the best way to ensure that the volume level is consistent across all songs if I plan on releasing them in some sort of combined package?

Thanks in advance

Re: Are Album Teasers a good idea or a giveaway?

it's a good idea if it shows off your music (like yours does). It's a bad idea if it's a glorified video/photo shoot, much like the Killer's new video promoting their upcoming album.

Re: wich should i get pro tools 10 or ableton live 8?

That may be true (seriously, I really don't know). But buying all of that expensive gear for protools (referring to the dedicated mix boards/desks they build)... is it really necessary? Couldn't you achieve the same results with a quality mixboard that works with ableton? I mean, you can have all th...

Re: How to make this sound effect?

In all honesty, I don't mean to offend you beatmunga. Sometimes it just irritates me when I'm busting my ass all day at work, and managed to squeeze in time to ask a question, then come to find that I have received a snobbish response that projects manners on message boards. It's going from exciteme...

No, only wizards have the magical power and intelligence to use MIDI. They didn't understand technology in the olden days so they called it magic.

Re: wich should i get pro tools 10 or ableton live 8?

It appears you have a lot of options. Protools has a difficult user interface. Ableton has a friendly one. They both sound the same and can pretty much do the same things when it comes to beat making. IMO Ableton is better for beat making and using clips to toy around with ideas. Or, you could alway...

Re: Mac Mini 5th Generation

The only problem with the i7 server is the GPU. It uses on-board graphics processing. So if you want to turn your midi keyboard into a controller for your Diablo 3 Wizard.. then you may run into some frame rate issues... It's better to have a dedicated graphics processor for games. In my opinion. Th...
