Is this not a usb power settings issue with Windows(7?)? I think even if it's set for high performance Windows sometimes powers down usb ports. There is a way to set it so it doesn't do this.....I found it on one of those sites telling you how to set your PC up for audio - can't remember where though.

Why don't you just get the snare/clap with the kick and eq the kick out?

Try Ebay (UK) for Revox power leads as I think this is also what that connector type is known as. I seen some a couple of months back for £8.
Or buy the one off Amazon and cut the plug off and fit your own.

Mmmmmm.........maybe change the hihats for different ones? Sometimes no amount of eq etc can make something sound how you want it if it's not right in the first place. For me personally I think you need a sound that has more click/hit at the front of the hihat.......more tssssss than just ssssss if ...

Depends on the VST.........most run fine. Check on the forum for any you've got......see if anyone's got problems with Win 7 64bit.
