Re: Export to MP3
+1 for MP3 export. I would use it, and I imagine it would save a lot of time and disk space if you are rendering a long file like a DJ set. Just a simpler workflow than making a WAV/AIFF and then converting.

Re: New MBP Retina? USB 3.0 Ports and USB 2.0 Devices...
Update: My rMBP arrived yesterday and it so far works fine with my Alesis Multimix8 USB, Iomega HD and UC33e. I'm becoming more sure that class-compliant USB2.0 devices are likely to work in USB3.0 sockets, while devices with drivers seem to have issues. I will say one thing though... the once-beaut...

Re: Special Request for Assistance
I don't have CDJ but reading the manual online, it seems that the USB connection to computer is an audio interface and also sends MIDI data. Warrior Bob, I don' think another audio interface would be required.

Re: Special Request for Assistance
If MIDI data from your CDJ is being sent to Massive at all, then it seems like it isn't Note On data or you should hear a sound. I would start by making sure you can get some audio out of Massive (or any other VST) first of all, by either connecting a MIDI keyboard or using the computer keyboard to ...

Re: How to change the pitch of notes in ableton midi editor
OK, maybe I misunderstood that you felt your task couldn't be achieved Darkstar. I think Live's whole principle is to minimise windows - compare with Cubase or other DAWs of 5-10 years ago when tens of instrument windows and effects might be open at any one time. Live's design philosophy seemed to b...

Re: Sync two Ableton Live
Superstock's advice is good I think. Wifi does work but the timing will go all over the place. I haven't personally had problems syncing with MIDI, but the network option (wired) works.

Re: How to change the pitch of notes in ableton midi editor
Well people want options. As you add options and functionally, things get more complicated. It's the lack of options in this instance. I can think of so many different ways to add a Transpose function for notes in organically. Velocity is right there and you can change it in so many different ways ...

Re: How to change the pitch of notes in ableton midi editor
Changing the note in the midi editor won't pitch up your drum hit unless you have a sample mapped to that note which has the pitch you want. There are pitch controls within impulse and simpler to change the pitch of a sample. I think the reason you can only see two notes in the midi editor might be ...

Re: New MBP Retina? USB 3.0 Ports and USB 2.0 Devices...
That's interesting Curt. Glad you got a solution. However, does this mean we need Apple to address this issue in a future update? I'm wondering if the issue is specific only to your Rig or whether it's all usb2.0 devices with dedicated drivers? I'm just hoping that the usb3.0 ports on the MBP will w...

Re: Clip stop buttons import fiasco
Come on man. If it wasn't for "these people" you'd still be trying to make techno with tape decks. I tried it, it's fun but not a very streamlined workflow, nor very reliable results.

Re: New MBP Retina? USB 3.0 Ports and USB 2.0 Devices...
Sorry to hear about your Rig3 Curt. Moonpie, I know legacy devices are often left behind by new advances in hardware, but this was one case where USB3.0 ports were supposed to work with USB2.0 in glorious backward-compatibility. I'm not necessarily pointing the finger at companies like M-Audio or Ta...
