Unusual load time with device "Multichannel-send Nodes"
Working on a project that originally starts up in three-four minutes (windows- 4x I7 sandy bridge, 4gb ram) but when I start I added 30 instances of the "multichannel-8 send node object" (one to each track) the set took 6 minutes longer to load. I just ran a test on my macbook pro (early r...

Live looks for deleted devices at loading point
Hi,
I have a set that asks for "upstereo" plugin, even though it has not been used
In the set for over a year of development. Any idea how to make it stop?

Request: Detailed crash log
It would be very nice if there was a way of getting a more detailed, transparent crash log, both for live and maxforlive. It would be extremely helpful. It would be my favorite new feature.
Thank you for your consideration,
Ian

Re: Midi mapping ....
I believe the answer is yes. It has to be. Ultimately, It comes down to implementation and semantics, though. Maxforlive solution: If specifically want to play a note, you could create a device that listens to the value of something that you midimapped onto, and use this to created midi events withi...

Re: Will my computer choke?
Anyway will my 2007 MBP 2.2 dual 2 core running osx 10.6. severely struggle in the world of M4L? Granulator is a heavy cpu user, in my experience. Ten instances have my 2011 MBP running at 90%, idle, well it went back down to 9% idle, but averaged above 100% during playback. My philosophy is that y...

Re: "Update Limit (ms)" in live.dial, etc, inspector... ?
this was added in max 5.1.5 if memory serves me correct. it is based on speedlim and defer, as mentioned in these forums somewhere by the developers at the time. it is for automation purposes in case many fast changes are targeted at a control parameter etc. and so on. works pretty great in my expe...

Re: "Update Limit (ms)" in live.dial, etc, inspector... ?
Tested it out with staccato envelope data consisting of values 0 and 127 at 20bpm with this: <pre><code> ----------begin_max5_patcher---------- 725.3oc4XssiaBCD8YxWAxOmFg4RCpu09aTsJxfcR7VvFAlzrc09uWaCNAZg DmjVx1zHECLiwyYNdlir30YNfD9dREv8Ste00w40YNNZSJCNsO6.xQ6SyPU5 oARpEBNCLuwEuVjQDhWJHMqAHAw1.bep0c...

"Update Limit (ms)" in live.dial, etc, inspector... ?
Since there is no reference information (clue window or within the objects reference manual) could someone please confirm / describe this functionality?
Is this a delay or something for similar to a speedlim?
Thank you

Request- JS api examples / tutorials / explanations
It would be helpful if anyone felt like talking/describing how they approach javascript in maxforlive. Example code, comments, explanations, etc. I think it would be a worthwhile exercise for me to start transforming some of the existing devices and abstractions into JS, but to first have a few well...

Re: Kapture - next phase?
Since I only have 30 days to demo this, I was wondering if anyone here can tell me what I need to do so i can switch between parameters with MIDI? Not being a dick: spend the first of your ten days doing the tutorial. Otherwise you will be off to an ad hoc start and you will never know if you were ...

Re: 20-Max Programming Tutorials Lessons: Empty Folder
Also, I appear to have the devices for lessons 1-19, but no sets. Is this the norm? I remember dl'ing the latest version of live 3 times and reinstalling it before I got even these files, but never the sets...
