pattrstorage slots and M4Ldevices?
Hello, I only used the pattrstorage a few times in Max and now am looking into saving some recallable basic settings in a M4L device with pattrstorage. It works nicely to save the current state of some non live.-controls. But it seems I need to save the slots into an extra file. Any thoughts on that...
Now NI Reaktor 5 is 99 euro, should I buy this or max4live?
Well, if you are an engineer or Reaktor freak, get reaktor ... if you are a computer scientist or Max freak, get M4L ... Or - if you want to use ready-made stuff from the reaktor library, get reaktor, if yo...

MIO - Metric Halo Mobile IO interfaces .... (www.mhlabs.com)
You can record 32bit float in Live ... I used JackOSX to stream audio from another program and recorded it ....
hope that helps

Re: max4live isn't available, if Live is rewire slave??
Well, that is just another step from Ableton to cripple the rewire slave version of Live so that it is actually useless (no plugin support (really wonder why most others can do that - Bidule, Numerology, etc.), no MIDI-I/O support other than ReWireMIDI-In, etc.). It is a shame, but really not surpri...

Re: 32 bit floating point
Well, as someone pointed out - recording 32bit does nothing when your converter is 24bit. Also, 32bit is 24bit information with an 8 bit transformation exponent, so the actually info of 24bit and 32bit is the same - the difference is that 32bit has the exponent and can be shifted flexibly. But if yo...

Re: Will Live 8.1 have Max4Live runtime?

If a runtime is bundled with the same number of devices as you get with the full package I personally believe $99 dollars undervalues what's on offer .
maybe so, but these are tough financial times where there is far less dispos...

Re: Will Live 8.1 have Max4Live runtime?
meanwhile, back at the topic... if there's always been a free runtime with max/msp from C74 doesn't it naturally follow that there should be one for Ableton?
Why? I mean the price, the environment and the reason people ask for a runtime of M4L indicate that Max ...
Max community is completely open source. WTF? .
Well, Max is not open source to begin with - check it out - have a look here: Cycling74.com (neither free for download, nor will you get the source code) Externals from IRCAM are not all open source ....

Re: Will Live 8.1 have Max4Live runtime?
Well, Max community is not that - open source - at all, IMHO. First Max/MSP-Jitter is quite expensive compared to PD .... free stuff often comes from University labs and such - but there are also lots of externals you have to pay for. I think that is a very romantic view of the Max/MSP community (of...

Well, what was the price of pluggo - you get lots of pluggos and lots of other stuff ... and in contrast to pluggo this will even work (hopefully)

Re: november the 23th ?
Well, even if is unlikely to be solid ... agile development please - stop these embarrassing time limited betas ...
I mean, as side-chaining and stuff like this not in version 1 anyways - really serve limitation - a few bugs and quirks do also not really hurt ....
Just my opinion though ...

Re: Will Live 8.1 have Max4Live runtime?
You get serious. A significant amount of Live users don't want to have to pony up another $300 (significant money in a world recession) for something they have no clue how to use, yet they would like to be able to use some of the devices created. Therefore it makes s...

Re: How to write into the info panel?
Well, I was working on a little device which I could not do due to bugs, but I think I just used the patch inspector to have the info for the device ... All this beta expiring stuff is plain odd and stupid IMHO. It is in my own interest to download the newest beta, so why do that .... So I am waitin...
