Re: Should I uninstall 32-bit and install 64, just for Melodyne?
Great suggestion about JBridge, thanks Mirthan. I'm trying to keep the hard drive of my IMAC as clean as possible, but that would be one way to try... Tone61, thanks for your suggestion: "Don't you think it's possible to have both 32- and 64bit versions installed at the same time? At least I ha...

Re: Should I uninstall 32-bit and install 64, just for Melodyne?
Any help to the NOOB greatly appreciated! I don't WANT to uninstall and install, but if it's the only way... I really do need Melodyne. I heard back from Melodyne support: "thanks for your mail. We recommend using a 64 bit host whenever possible. On a Mac I would also recommend using AU as the ...

Should I uninstall 32-bit and install 64, just for Melodyne?
I really want to use Melodyne within Ableton 9. I tried installing it on my Imac, but Live 9 is only tested and supported for the 64-bit version, as their website states (their info below). I tried anyway on my 2008 IMAC, 4G Ram, Live9 32-bit, and got this error message: "Some plug-ins could no...

Re: Macbook Air 2012 i5 vs 2013 i7 - no CPU meter difference
sell both your Airs and get a decent computer for audio. What makes you say this, 3dot? What specifically about the air makes it a poor choice for audio? The slower processor? I've read about lots of people using MB airs for audio, and they seem happy...? Do you think the MB Pro is much better for ...

Re: I'd like to delete all the sounds n presets I don't like
I also wish I could do this, or at least just see the stuff I like in some kind of "favorites" folders.. I'm newish to Ableton and learning 9 Suite, there's so much stuff I'll never use... (although I'm glad for the variety) is a "personal faves" marking system possible?

Re: Melodyne in Ableton 9
Excellent, thanks Lunabass! One other question, if you (or anyone) care to answer: I could probably just purchase Melodyne "Assistant" right? (It's only $250 as opposed to $400 for editor) I mean, I would only be doing one track at a time via Ableton, so I wouldn't need the multi-track cap...

Re: Macbook Air 2012 i5 vs 2013 i7 - no CPU meter difference
Thanks Avali, I'm about to get a new Air and you may have saved me $150, in so many places I see people suggesting that a faster CPU is important for VST's. Do you personally see any reason to opt for a MacBook pro over an Air for music production? (Other than the fact that it can't be upgraded, or ...

Melodyne in Ableton 9
I'm noobish with Ableton but I've used Melodyne a lot and love it for fixing vocals, creating harmonies, editing parts etc. I'm learning Ableton 9 as my DAW and I want to use Melodyne for the vocals, does it still work "within" Ableton? I know that "Bridge" is gone, but who is us...

Thanks OP! Can you or anyone here help the NOOB, where do I put these loops in Ableton? I'm on a Mac with Suite 9, just learning.

Isn't this joint moderated? All un-moderated forums descend into madness, it takes some work to block out the idiots, unfortunately. And blocked out they should be, please moderator. This is a useful forum, don't let it go to ruin!

Re: Would you pay for a known producer/DJ to review your music?
If a given producer has serious chops and can give useful feedback for improving a track, then it might be worth paying for. But lots of people give feedback away for free. In New York City I attended BMI and Ascap songwriting workshops for years, and the quality of the feedback was often stellar: w...

Re: I want to WARN every Trial User here! PC DEAD
You guys are laughing and everything but shortly after I installed Ableton 9.1, I shit my pants on a first date. I thought she might overlook the smell if I asked her to marry me, but SHE SAID NO!

Re: Just got ableton running on surface pro
Thanks for posting about this. Early days for touch screen and music, but I suspect one day we'll all be doing music on a super-touch sensitive screen or surface of some kind. The Push might dominate for a time, but a surface that can look like *anything* might ultimately make a more flexible interf...

Re: 32 or 64
The answer is pretty simple. If you run 64bit OS and have more than 3 GB of RAM in Your system. > Install 64bit Version. Tho, unless you happen to still have some old 32bit VST plugins, then it might as well install the 32bit Version as well, to be still able to use those plugins. What information ...

Thank you folks. Very helpful.
Okay so now I'm a noob with a suite. Gonna make some great tunes! I'll download it on Tuesday or whenever 9 comes out. Thanks.
