RME Babyface Pro vs MOTU Ultralite AVB
Thoughts on the choice between these two interfaces? I am upgrading my computer and moving from Windows 7 to 10, and my current interface (Tascam US-1641) does not have Win10 drivers. RME seems to be the company to beat, but so expensive, can probably only justify the Babyface Pro. The MOTU Ultralit...

Re: What's your Live controller and why?
Virus TI is my main full size keyboard - I'm a one synth kind of guy, so I got the best one I could. Queno for finger drumming - small, portable, sits flat on a desk so no 'give' when playing. Swiss army knife of production controllers. Alesis ControlPad for real drumming-because it's hard to do dru...

Re: M4L Essentials MIDI Monitor: always displaying channel 1?
Well what you said was mostly just dumb and I suppose that offends some people. I'm talking about the "what's the purpose of this device/why include it??" comments. The device clearly shows more than just the MIDI channel, so yeah, dumb. Just for reference, this is how you properly answer...

Re: M4L Essentials MIDI Monitor: always displaying channel 1?
Sorry for asking a question. I could not give a single fuck about learning anything about Max, not my bag. I just wanted to see what channel some information was coming in on, figured a device called MIDI monitor would do that. It didn't, I didn't understand *why* it didn't, so I asked, and got an a...

Re: M4L Essentials MIDI Monitor: always displaying channel 1?
The channel view is indeed at the moment slightly superfluous, Live merges EVERYTHING internally (device view) to Channel 1 no matter which channel your in/out section is set to... best, c That's weird. What is this device supposed to be used for then? Why even bother including it? This is why I ha...

M4L Essentials MIDI Monitor: always displaying channel 1?
For some reason, this device shows everything as being on MIDI channel 1, even though that's definitely not accurate. Example: I have a Moog sending & receiving on channel 5, and I can *see* that in Live's I/O section on that track, but the MIDI Monitor device on the same track shows all the pro...

Re: New Ableton Controller 16 knobs dedicated with screen
I'd like to see Ableton do one of two things: 1) Make a Nocturn-like 8 knob/8 button controller that automatically maps to a rack's macros like the APC40 device controls. Bonus points if they could be daisy chained for signal + power, and racked. I'd love to have a rack full of Macro controllers tha...

Re: new Simpler is AMAZING!!!!
So is the idea to still do your warping outside of Simpler, and Simpler just takes advantage of the set markers? I was surprised you can't choose the number of bars you want to warp the phrase as, and that you can't drag transients around, etc. Loops that I have warped already & drop into Simple...

Yes, all the time. Works 100% fine and is now indispensable to my workflow. I use it with both a Dell desktop and a Toshiba laptop.

Awesome. Touchable is easily the best Ableton controller I own, don't know what I'd do without it. Thank you.

Re: CONTROL Play & Record with your FEET
Line 6 fbv express. $100 new, but I've got one I'd part with for $50 shipped fwiw. Works 100% fine, I just upgraded to it's big brother to get more switches since I use Live for all my guitar effects.
