Re: Anyone using MBP2015/Sierra with success?
Deleting preferences file so far has helped immensely (thanks Daniel from support. Wish I thought of this a week ago). Was able to play 20 minutes straight with zero pops/dropouts. Then the problem came back slightly. Why would resetting Live in this way effect the CPU's ability to handle low latenc...

Anyone using MBP2015/Sierra with success?
Specifically with low latency? Brand new laptop maxed out with top-of-the-line specs and updated with the latest versions of OS and synths and drivers and... TOTAL CRAP! My 2011 MBP runs my set fine, but not this expensive beast. At 64 samples, playing Komplete instruments via Komplete Kontrol and O...

Re: Stories of Crack, Sizzle and Pop
Was just about to post about 2015 MBP problems and saw this. Brand new maxed out computer running Sierra and it cannot do the most simple tasks in Live 9. My 2011 MBP 2.2 on Yosemite (and my 2015 iMac on El Capitan) runs my set perfectly at 64 samples(except for whining fans) which consists of this:...

How is it for you with 2 keyboards centered (qwerty + 61/49)
Dead centering both a 61 key instrument and the keyboard/mouse always seemed too good to be true, but thinking here about getting this height adjustable deck: I would bet that a sliding keyboard tray plus height adjustable = a good workable thing for DAW'ists. Strange there were no musicians' review...

Re: How would you demonstrate natural sciences with music/sound?
What makes brooks babble? Why can we hear voices or speech sounds in the wind or forrest? How can everything from melodies to entire orchestral arrangements be heard in that rare fan/heater? (are other environmental sounds sub-aurally combining with the white noise? or picking up radio noise? or oth...

Re: mix, render, compare. what softwares do you use
So how are you comparing mixes? are you importing renders back into tracks and soloing? You would have to do a lot of "manage project" to keep those extra files from adding up...

Re: mix, render, compare. what softwares do you use
How many different applications are you using to ready your tracks for a mastering engineer? What app are you using to compare your mixes and play with the program order?

mix, render, compare. what softwares do you use
Curious about various workflows when final mixing an album. I recently bought Studio One to make my life easier after putting together my first album recording and mixing in Live, downsampling in Audacity, assembling in iTunes and comparing mixes in Quciktime Player. What an organizational and mouse...

Re: Proper way to setup new Imac using two drives??
You probably don't want to record multiple audio inputs back into the drive you are streaming sample libraries from and running your apps from. I always record to an external 7200 FW drive for that. Of course I am often making long recordings of at least 3 stereo audio inputs.

Re: Buzzing from computer charger
Move your charger away from other cords. Also try plugging your monitors' power cords into a completely different wall jack from your other power cords.

That Novation looks good but has no clip grid.
I should see if there is a script for my Maschine that can show some clips and record arm status and also be able to program the bottom row as looper controls.

Push 2: when. how big. when will the bugs be ironed out.
Need a new midi controller, mine all burned. Just want something to control a looper and record arms and clip records. APC20 worked just fine, maybe I'll buy one again on eBay. Livid ds1 looks good, too. I wonder if those 9 colored buttons can control a 3x3 of Live's clips. too bad the NI keyboards ...

What digital distribution service do you use?
Ready to sell some music online and thought I would be dealing with iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and the lot myself. But it looks like paid services are the way to go and even required (with Bandcamp and Pandora the exception). After some searching, Tunecore seems the only attractive one so far. Is it t...
