Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
To those of you who insist that Bitwig must be Ableton in disguise, I'm sorry, but that's idiotic. To anyone who suggests that Bitwig Studio looks too much like live to be anything but a cheap knock-off, I'd love to hear your description of how you would implement a clip matrix without the results o...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
Bitwig doesn’t yet seem to have dedicated hardware. Initial smart-ass response: Well, yeah, it doesn't yet seem to exist. But I don't want to nitpick, because I see what you're saying, and this actually got me thinking. That’s a huge plus for Live. In terms of marketing, absolutely. For people who ...

I also think if there was some kind of generic rack device, they would have shown that. Assuming the following: Device nesting Devices can contain other devices, and the whole package can be saved as a preset. Many of our instruments and effects use nesting in new and powerful ways. How do you feel...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
I wouldn't read too much into the volume of pro-Bitwig/anti-Live sentiment in this thread. It's gear lust. Nothing new on the internet. We'll see how this plays out once Bitwig Studio is available, Live 9 is (hopefully) announced/released, and the chips will fall where they may. Beyond that, everyon...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
As much as this does indeed look very exciting (a browser with meta data would make my life a LOT easier), have to say I'm a wee bit saddened by the reaction on here. So many people seem to be sounding the death knell for Live - the software has played a massive role in the music and careers of so ...

It is, although Windows 8 and some Linux distros (will) have native multitouch support.shadx312 wrote:BTW, is it up to the OS for a program to natively support multitouch?
OS X has support for *some* multitouch *gestures*—but that's not really the same thing.

Also most companies make you sign a non compete clause You're right, they do. Fortunately, businesses aren't judges, and judges in some places ( like here in California ) have ruled that non-compete clauses in employment contracts are unenforceable. As it pertains to Bitwig specifically, both they ...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
I'm thrilled about this. Been anxiously awaiting an announcement from these guys for quite a while. I hope to get in on the beta (I've been on the mailing list for months) and fully expect that there are going to be some rough spots initially, but this has so much going for it. Did anyone else read:...

Re: New Akai MPC
This product doesn't exist yet. No one here has seen it, no one here has touched it, no one here has attempted to use it for its intended purpose of producing music. Everything in this thread (as it pertains to the MPC Ren specifically) is conjecture. I'm practically immune to gear lust You don't sa...
