Re: Am I the *ONLY* one finding M4L actually honestly unusable!?
By storing geometric orientation in code it just adds another layer of interpretation/overhead to the whole thing. It's wasteful. Not sure what your point is. It's wasteful because of the visual elements? Pretty sure it's not. It's meant to be accessible so people who are not familiar or comfortabl...

Re: Am I the *ONLY* one finding M4L actually honestly unusable!?
Windows user here. I've never had a single problem with Live/Max4Live in 10 years of use. System upgrades/software upgrades/hardware upgrades...never a single problem with any of it other than my own oversights. I've even put out a lot of my own M4L apps and have never had major issues or complaints...

Re: Drum racks and Max 8 question
I don't think the multi channel audio is available in live 9, even if using max 8.
You can drop effects on each drum rack pad though.

Re: How to make parameters of the device midi mappable?
Change the vanilla max numbox objects to live.numbox objects. Just make sure the parameter ranges of the new live.numbox objects match the originals.
After that, just ensure the live.numbox objects have "Automated and Stored" enabled and you should be good to go.

Re: Please tell me I'm missing something (when using BEAP)
I may be wrong, but beap modules were never really designed with Max for Live in mind. I think they were mainly for Max standalone. Not to say they cannot be used with M4L. In addition to chapelier's suggestion, you can also play with the presentations of each of the modules to make it so they fit a...

Re: Using M4L with MIDI and bidirectional option to control Live
One way to do this would be to observe the controlled parameter through the Live API/LOM and send the observed value to the control dial. If you are going to go that far though, you may as well control target parameter through the api as well and not use the ctlout object. Just an opinion though. Al...

Re: Multichannel in Live 10 - surround panner
Not sure what you are looking for exactly. Can you be more specific? Are you looking to use the surround panner as intended or are you just trying to figure out how the audio sending actually works? If you are trying to use it as intended, what problem are you running into that is preventing the res...

Well until stringtapper gets back to us, or until I wrap my head around this dict object...here's that bare bones device I said I would hook up earlier.

Re: Is there a simple audio send point M4L device somewhere?
So I think the best thing is to avoid the craziness of the surround panner and focus on the basic goal... Decipher the dictionary outputs of the API elements to observe and set receiving tracks... Simultaneously control signal routing to the plugout~ object... Deciphering the dict stuff is the bigge...

Re: Is there a simple audio send point M4L device somewhere?
I actually managed to extract the bpatcher for use elsewhere. You also have to include the attached send and receive objects outside of the bpatcher and you'll still need the extra outputs on the plugout~ object. I'll see if I can get some patch code posted later with the stripped down routing basic...

Re: A sticky for working/(currently)non-working M4L Devices ?
I have a bunch of weird and half-assed utilities and controller devices that seem to work just as well in 10 as they did in 9.
Take that for what it is worth.
