not really that clear what you mean at all - but maybe you could try using a MIDI loopback and using clips to trigger scenes then you could use notes in the clips and follow actions, make racks and use clip envelopes to trigger chains, use the 'external instrument' plugin to send MIDI to the loopbac...

if you map say the mod wheel or a fader to the scene selector (right most option in mapping mode) then scrolling up or down does not go all the way but is limited by the right hand scroll bar

in MIDI or KEY map mode you cant see the mapping if there is a rack because the triangle button obscures it

And, Ableton, why don't YOU manage files for ME? Why do I have to do it? If I play with a bunch of loops and recording audio files, then delete them, then collect-all-and-save, guess what? All those unused files are eating up my hard drive. They get socked away into the samples folder. Brilliant! N...

IMO you can do more with less effort with Reaktor, but you can do more with max/msp than with Reaktor, it just takes more effort. dunno, I've only used max/msp.
