Thanks for all the insights. As for the frequency response range, what I meant was this. My set of Logitech Z-3 speakers with a subwoofer are listed as having a frequency response of 35 Hz - 20kHz. Most sets of monitors I look at fall short of that on the low end, stopping at like, 50 Hz on the low...

What are your favourite Free VSTs?

I recently discovered Helix [http://www.audjoo.com/Helix.html] and was blown away.

What's the point of using studio monitors when most of them have a smaller frequency response range than most decent computer/multimedia speaker systems and when the average potential listener isn't going to be listening to your mix on studio monitors themselves? Absurd. Studio Monitors have a much...

Is it a good idea to have a Dual Boot machine?

Hi all, I'm thinking of making a dual boot machine keeping XP for my audio production and ubuntu for all the rest such as browsing, viewing media files and for all other general tasks. This isn't really a need as my XP machine is good enough for all tasks but I need a new toy to play and I thought i...

Hello spkey, In some cases the undo history can become corrupt - you might send me your Log.txt to check this. -> support@ableton.com Best, Christian Kleine, I will do this asap. Many thanks for your response. BTW, I have managed to find a small workaround though it does not work all times. As sugg...

No gomi I was trying to add some audio to a simple flash cartoon I made for voice overs etc... I got the error I placed in the first post. By the way, if you do not add audio and leave the animation mute, do you still have the same issue when importing into Ableton? This test will show us whether t...

I have never done video in Ableton Live but work in the video industry so if you send me the specs such as what video codecs ableton accepts I will tell you which open source tool you can use to do a good conversion.

poodleface suggests the right solution.

There is simply NO undo in Ableton!

Basically I've never managed to fix this issue. Without trying to exaggerate I've come to the honest conclusion that Ableton Live has NO undo for me! My undo is stuck at "Change Parameter #6" constantly and does not let me undo ANYTHING so if this isn't fixed it's a very serious considerat...

Aside from keeping things neat and tidy in the arrangement by being able to "hide" tracks, folders can also serve as master fx busses, as well as a way to have "grouped" control over the child tracks. Before the Drum Racks, if you had say two Impulses racked together with every ...

I'm a long time Tracktion user and only recently got into Live. While Live is great in so many ways, there are some things that make traditional vocal or guitar tracking much more pleasing in Tracktion: 1. One click/keystroke recording. If you blow the take you only need another two keystrokes to a...

taking the job and playing his normal stuff (IDM) is the same as taking the job and shooting himself.
