Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
might it be that the foundation of bitwig is the reason for the absence of live 9?

Re: I almost bought Logic Pro
i am logic user und sometimes ableton... the music i make is different in live and logic. it's more experimental in live and more composed and arranged in logic. a bit like writing one song with a guitar and one song on a piano. both takes time, both is work, both is fun. but it's different. if you ...

Re: Next step in Music Theory?
good points here! annother way of doing more 'complex' things if you like to 'bath' in jazzy harmonies (like i do) is writing a simple melody over very simple chords to get a good feeling for timing and developement in a song. then replace the simple chords with more jazzy ones (i.e. replace a V7 ch...

Re: How much do you think the "pros" know about their DAW?
you have to know all functions you need.
that doesn't mean you need all functions a daw offers.
often the limit opens creativity.
and the main thing is always the musical idea.

Re: SOUND QUALITY COMPARISON, Live versus Logic
it´s a bit like comparing two synthesizers by looking at the oscillators only. both have the same sawtooth, wow, so they have to sound identical!
but why all this testing again and again? result is: the daw you know best sounds always better.

Re: Recognizing Live in a song
it´s a side effect of the "expert idiot" mode. if your focus is on sound design you get bored or even disappointed when listening to factory presets in a production. if your focus is on composing you get bored or even disappointed when listening to the same chord progressions again and aga...

Re: NI Komplete or something else?
+1 for komplete - especially as an addition to the guitar.
komplete has a lot of band instruments (acoustic drums, bass, pianos, organs, rhodes) of excellent quality and you get guitar rig too. beside you get a unsiverse of electronic instruments.

i like this synth and also the presets coming wiht it. they are kind of different... modern but not agressive.
the gui is ok but with more complex sounds you can't see all the modulations and have to scroll... a bigger gui could easily avoid that.

Re: Anybody know any good MIDI instrument kits for house music?
if you're looking for new plugin instruments and efx, have a look at d16.pl - they have a lot of house related stuff. you also could have a look at the club of revolution sample cds: very good loops and samples you can open in simpler or in drum racks. http://www.sounds-of-revolution.com/sample-pack...

Re: Ableton simply not serious about correctly supporting MIDI.
i'm also hardly missing lopps that start on other beats than the "one". for example: salsa grooves, where the chord changes happen on the "four" or funky grooves which start a 16th bevor the "one"! and yes, forget midi in ableton. just enough to play or program some two...

do you sell the music when you make it marketable?
if not, make he music you like. the world doesn't need more music which "sounds like...".
if you can sell the "marketable" music, tell me how!
