Re: Monomodular Thread (New m4l based Installers)

Sorry to hear you're having those problems. I don't know exactly what's going on, but it doesn't sound like anything other users have reported from using Monomodular. More likely it had something to do with changing permissions. I would use Disk Utility to repair permissions on your System drive bef...

Re: Monomeemu and similar

I'd love to hear what holes you are finding in Monomodular....as far as 'getting under the hood', I was able to port the clipchopper m4l client in about ten minutes last night.

Re: Monomodular Thread (New m4l based Installers)

You might try downloading the installer again....I updated it yesterday after testing more extensively on win7. It autodetects the paths half the time, but usually if its the first m4l device I drop in a new project, it doesn't find the paths automatically. I think this is because Live is accessing ...

Re: Monomodular Thread (New m4l based Installers)

Hmmm...that's a new one. I did update the installer for Windows yesterday without saying anything .... I haven't observed that issue yet though (and I've spent a bit of time adjusting the installer lately on a copy of Win7 to get the bugs worked out of it on that platform). If you still haven't gott...

Re: Monomodular Thread (New m4l based Installers)

Installers updated to add version tagging, and fixed a few bugs on both platforms. I really need some Win7 feedback on these, as I don't have a dev machine with win7 installed....

Re: Monomodular Thread (b992: New m4l based installers)

Hey guys, just a short note to let anyone looking here know that there's a new blogsite: http://www.aumhaa.com/wp and a new Wiki: http://www.aumhaa.com/wiki And Monomodular is now distributed through a new m4l patch I built that does all the downloading and installation directly from within Live. Th...

Re: a question regarding control surfaces

You don't have to 'keep track of them' necessarily, you just use them as a trigger to update the info about your position. There are better ways, but they require hot-rodding the Python script... As far as the SL, it's not _Framework, so m4l doesn't even recognize it (unless something has changed si...

Re: If I built a 16-knob macro control device...

There's also a _Framework compatible version of a DeviceComponent that controls 32 knobs in the Codec CS, available with Monomodular. Feel free to rip it out and use it for your own designs.

Re: Monomodular Thread (b992 release...lots of new stuff)

Most commonly asked question about Monomodular these days. Monomodular now exists solely in in Python. Go to Live's MIDI Preferences, and you can select it as a control surface (with 'None' assigned to inputs and outputs). You'll also want to install whatever version of control surface you're using ...

Re: Monomodular Thread (b992)

Hey guys....Monomodular is up to b992. Added support for APC20 and 40, Livid Code, there's a new native Livid Block script, and lots of changes and improvements. 2 new Mods that didn't exist before, and new routing possibilities on OSX. Also made an osa installer to simplify things a little (only wo...

Re: calling lock_to_device from M4L

It should take an id argument....I use that sort of thing when passing device id's to Python all the time. When you send an ('id', n) argument to python, it gets converted to a python object by mxdcore. I think probably you just need to send it as an array, like so: blahblah.call('lock_to_device', '...

Re: Launchpad into user1/2 without selecting as a control surfac

A lot of your issues (routing, addressing, etc) would be dealt with by using Mod, but I'm afraid you'd still have to select the which patch you wanted to control when you first started Live, and every time you loaded a new project. On the other hand, you could do the same thing with Mod as you could...

Re: Launchpad into user1/2 without selecting as a control surfac

Sounds like you have things pretty well under control. Any setup w/launchpads is going to require Automap to configure the buttons if you're using it outside of Live. It's fairly well documented how to change settings within automap, I'm not going to add to it. If you're using it in Live w/the Remot...
