love the bassline, the airy bell synths, etc.
wish the sounds gelled a little more (had a little more of a relationship to one another, in timbre or processing, maybe in terms of the reverb/space).
but, i like it!

Re: Mixing properly
Turn down all the individual tracks. Nice trick is to put a Utility plug on each track to lower the level by an arbitrary value (say, 6dB) so you have lots of room to later ride the faders during mixing. If it sounds quiet, turn up the control on your speaker. Also, see Tarekith's guide to mixdowns.

Re: Set Clips to IGNORE Scene Selection
Removing the stop button in some scenes, and cleverly designing scenes, as described above, is the solution.

Re: How do I load wav files into ableton?
FWIW, this may not be what you're experiencing, but I've tried using sound files from old Reason soundbanks (which, in those cases, had uppercase .WAV extensions) that Ableton considers "invalid." Maybe your WAVs don't conform to the standard. If you can open the files in another audio edi...

I'm sorry, can you provide some more context? I don't understand what you are asking.

Re: Midi Slices to Individual Audio Clips?
Which is to say, if you want to do it for more than 5 slices... Or n slices, where n is a number greater than would indicate a reasonable amount of manual labour. I have a live set with the mapping set up per Tom cosm's example.

Tom Cosm to the rescue. This should give you an idea of how to do it:

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?
Holy emotional involvement. Yikes. So, if you're doing digital painting with Photoshop—using brushes for painterly effect—then you might not care if a pixel is off here or there. And you might make beautiful paintings. Excellent! If you're doing fine pixel-level work with Photoshop—using pencils at ...

Re: PDC -- what is it? why has it never bothered me?
Tone: I agree with your assertion that it's probably time for Ableton to revisit. And that yes, they made some decisions regarding delay compensation that were deliberate (though Live *does* have plug-in delay compensation, with a certain number of tradeoffs, which they do discuss in the manual and ...

Re: PDC -- what is it? why has it never bothered me?
I think all projects should have timing accuracy regardless whether they are big or small.. There is a degree to which delay is noticable, but timing should be tight regardless. Ambient, Jazz, Rock and Country can have imperfect timing as a key element of the sound, character and feel. John Cage, B...

Re: PDC -- what is it? why has it never bothered me?
I'd just like to echo the comment about workarounds not being workarounds; "bouncing" isn't a workaround. It's a different thing. At best, as someone else here described it, it's a different workflow. In general, I am happy to work within the constructs of software I use. In fact, Live sha...

Re: PDC -- what is it? why has it never bothered me?
(X-posted from another thread ) Here is a very silly but straightforward example of the plugin-delay-automation issue. As others have indicated, it's truly insidious in that the "errors" accumulate and depending on how many tweaks you make/how much automation you have, can render your proj...
